Halo: Reach is almost here and we may already know what happens at the end of the campaign, but what happens during the campaign will be the reason why everyone will buy the game. We all know from the beta that the gameplay of Reach is substantially different from other installments in the series, but the A.I. has been given a complete overhaul as well according to CVG.

CVG was given some hands-on time with the first three levels of Reach's new campaign and claimed that -- on top of stunning visuals that are allegedly "more fluid than Gears Of War" -- the campaign's Covenant baddies' artificial intelligence was "simply staggering". The new A.I. will apparently completely change "a decade of experience and familiarity with the universe", which is fantastic news for those who thought that the campaign may just lead to the same old song and dance that the previous installments have amounted to.

The new and improved story mode will really "test your gaming mettle" and will also reportedly add tons a re-playability to the campaign. The A.I. will utilize strategies that will change every time you play through, forcing you to take a different approach to the enemies that fill your path. Considering that the only real reason to go back and revisit the campaign was achievements before re-playability in a Halo title is almost unheard of, but it's great news for fans and critics alike.

Halo: Reach is going to be quite a far cry from anything else that has happened in the series, and improved A.I. and campaign re-playability are only going to help fuel the fire of change. The varying amounts of hands-on time I've had with Bungie's latest have been quite enjoyable. The graphics are fantastic, the gameplay is fun, and, most importantly, it feels new. I'll go on record as saying that Halo: Reach will be the best game in the series, and if I already know that from varying amounts of play time I've had with the title then you are in for one hell of a treat within the next few weeks.

Do you guys think the new A.I. will pose a challenge to your mad Halo skills? Do you think Halo: Reach will be the best Halo yet?

Halo: Reach will reach store shelves on Sept. 14 exclusively for the Xbox 360.
