Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can grab a new freebie skin for their Halo Infinite multiplayer Mongoose, and everybody loves a good freebie. In a tweet from the official Halo account on March 9th, 2022, 343 Industries said "Time to grab a fresh coat of paint, Spartans! With @XboxGamePass Ultimate Perks you're set and ready to get monthly #HaloInfinite multiplayer bonuses, including this month's Pass Tense coating for your Mongoose. Claim now via the Perks' gallery on your Xbox console, or PC."RELATED: Halo Infinite's Deceased Spartans ExplainedThe free Pass Tense coating for the multiplayer Mongoose DLC also includes four 2XP Boosts and four Challenge Swaps. This pack continues the monthly trend of offering players free Halo Infinite DLC to Game Pass subscribers. So far The Pass Tense Warthog skin, Pass Tense MA40 AR skin, and the Pass Tense BR75 skin have all been made available to players for free since the game's launch in December 2021.

The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks program offers a new selection of content free to download to players who subscribe to the service. The free DLC content that is offered every month is for selected games in the current Game Pass catalog of over 100 high-quality games and titles within the EA Play library. Also, available to download this month is DLC for Phantasy Star Online 2, EA Sports UFC 4, and Century: Age of Ashes.

This announcement from 343 Industries is sure to please avid players of Halo Infinite's multiplayer mode. Whether it's tearing across the battlefield on a freshly painted Mongoose looking for some close-quarters combat or perched up high staring down the barrel of a sniper scope players are going to look mighty fancy if they've collected all the skins available to date.

Whilst it's always nice to get some freebies, some fans have complained about the lack of variation in the free DLC, specifically the color of the skins. So far every pack has awarded skins in a metallic green color, leading to an abundance of players sporting the same skins in any given lobby.

Other players have taken to online forums to voice their discontent, with some suggesting the current free DLC is substandard content and that they would prefer new armor sets as opposed to just skins for current armor. Many fans will be hoping for a little more variation in future packs. This month's free DLC is available to claim via the Game Pass Ultimate dash tile on the console, or via the Game Pass app on PC and mobile.

Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
