‘Halo 4′ on the Cover of Game Informer’s May Issue; New Cortana Design

Halo 4 Game Informer Cover

In the wake of reports that Microsoft has registered new Halo domain names, Game Informer has unveiled that Halo 4 will be featured on the cover of their May issue. The cover will prominently display art of Halo 4 dream team Master Chief and Cortana, both sporting a new look, and (as one would expect) there will be a lot more than just pictures to look at in the upcoming issue.

According to Game Informer, there will be a fourteen page blowout of 343 Industries’ Halo 4. These pages will be home to exclusive information on the latest Halo title, as well as plenty of “in-game screenshots and concept art” that’ll make fans of the series salivate from the mouth in pure ecstasy.

The first bit of news that is easy to pull from the cover is Cortana’s new look. We saw brief glimpses of the famous A.I. in the Halo 4 reveal trailer, but we’ve yet to see her new look in all of its glory. It may just be the art style used for the cover of Game Informer, but it appears that Cortana’s hair has become noticeably darker; it also looks like she has selected a mildly different outfit to wear then the ones featured in previous games.

Halo 4 Game Informer Info and Screenshots

The cover art looks great, but it’s also been confirmed that the piece will feature other info regarding Halo 4‘s story and the direction it’ll be taking the series, some hands-on impressions of the game’s multiplayer, and details on “the surprising new approach governing every aspect of Halo’s multiplayer experience.” With all of this information promised to be made available in the coming future, fans are undoubtedly excited.

Maybe we’ll finally get more details on the previously teased multiplayer map Warehouse. Better yet, maybe 343 will come out and confirm they were just joking when they said there wouldn’t be a Halo 4 beta!… Yeah, that one is a bit of a stretch, but we can all dream.

The May issue of Game Informer magazine will be available to subscribers on April 10th.

  1. Can’t wait! Love Halo.

  2. I have a GameStop Power Up card and it says I am supposed to get Gameinformer free for a year, but I don’t know how to activate/redeem it so that I start getting it, does anyone know what I must do to start getting my GameInformer magazines? I need me some Haloz! 14 pages?! I can’t imagine what kind of info we’ll get, hopefully not to much campaign info other than stuff like location and enemies, I would prefer it to be mysterious. I hope they blow the lid off of MP though, we need details on what to expect as far as “perks” are concerned. Again, if anyone could clue me in on how to get GameInformer I would really appreciate it :)

    • i would go to gamestop and tell them you signed up for the power up rewards card and arent getting gameinformer. thats how i get my game informer and i never had to activate, just started getting it after signing up for power up rewards

    • you are supposed to register the card with a gamestop account on the Powerup Rewards site if you have not already.

  3. best gaming magazine out there atm. down to earth reviews, great interviews (with smart questions as opposed to ign).

    • I’m inclined to agree. I also really enjoy Nintendo Power. :)

    • Not just supporting my own console or anything, and while I do LOVE GI, I think the xbox mag is honestly better. Free unique demos and content, stories related more to the areas I’m interested in, and for better or for worse is actually honest about what’s inside, which is surprising, because aside from GI, like you said, most just seem to give the industry a BJ.

  4. Cannot wait to play me some Halo 4
