Adweek Media has recently posted a “Best of 2000′s” list and within the nominees for best commercial was the Halo 3 “Believe” ad. It’s an amazing ad in terms of how much work and detail went into it, but it just was not as memorable as say the Gears of War “Mad World” spot.
I still remember people (some non-gamers) calling Gears of War, the “Mad World” game well after the game released. I remember playing on Xbox Live and having enemies and allies sing the song in the death room. Isn’t that what the “best commercial” should be? Something that stuck in people’s (customer’s) heads well after the commercial was seen. Even re-watching the Mad World commercial now gives me the urge to fire-up Gears of War again. Regardless, the Halo 3 ad was beat out by “Grrr”, a Honda commercial. Below you will find the Halo ad, the winning Honda ad and the Gears of War Mad World ad, my personal Commercial of the Decade winner.

Gears of War -- Mad World:
Which one do you think is the best? Is there another video game commercial you think is the commercial of the decade?

I loved the odst commercial and the mw2 one
I think the Halo 3 one is great but I prefer the Gears of War one. Also I agree with what you said about people remembering the Gears of War one more.
Obviously this guy has not played HALO online long enough to have heard the HALO theme hummed to death.
Geeears!
I like the gears commercial. The music makes it decent along with the footage. The Halo commercial was blah.
I prefer the first Halo 3 commercial, that aired during the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl adds were not included in the voting for best commercial of the decade, but it is still a good one.
