Grimlock in Transformers Fall of Cybertron (Teaser Trailer)

Even before we got our first look at Grimlock in the first teaser trailer for High Moon Studios' full-fledged "robots in disguise" follow-up, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, everyone's favorite Dinobot had already been revealed on the cover of Game Informer.

That said, Grimlock is arguably one of the most popular and kick-butt characters in the Transformers universe, so it's no surprise that he once again features heavily in the media build-up to the game - this time appearing at the dinosaur-tail-end of Spike TV's VGA teaser for the upcoming Cybertron title.

Fans of the series will no doubt already know that Fall of Cybertron is the direct successor to High Moon's War for Cybertron - even though the team also tackled an uninspired movie tie-in for Transformers: Dark of the Moon (read our review) between the Cybertron-centric titles. Unsurprisingly, the Dark of the Moon movie tie-in was a bland and drawn-out experience that lacked nearly all of the polish and intriguing Transformers designs featured in War for Cybertron.

That said, few of us were expecting the title to live up to its predecessor - especially since, even before Dark of the Moon released, we already knew a proper sequel to High Moon's breakout title was in the works. The revelation that the game, now known to be Fall of Cybertron, would feature Dinobots only further fueled our interest. Of course, why there are Dinobots on Cybertron remains a mystery - though it doesn't make us any less excited.

As we previously reported, game fans will be getting their first full look at Fall of Cybertron at this year's Spike VGA's and today, much like they did with the Metal Gear Solid: Rising teaser, the network is whetting player appetites with a sneak peek at what will be revealed on Saturday, December 10 at 8PM Eastern:

In addition to Grimlock, we get another good look at G1 Optimus Prime as well as what appears to be Jazz, Ironhide and Starscream (wielding a light-sword). Also, for those fans who worried that High Moon intended to put Grimlock on the Decepticon side, it looks as though, with a careful glimpse of his chest plate, that the infamous Dinobot is right where he belongs - alongside the Autobots.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron releases August 28, 2012 on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
