Although fans of Grand Theft Auto have been forced to wait longer than usual for the next entry in the series, Grand Theft Auto 5, Rockstar Games has unleashed a torrent of artwork and screenshots promising an open world unlike any other. And even if we can't yet say that the game will be released on PC, we know just what extremes it will take the action to when (and if) it does.

The latest batch of GTA5 screenshots give yet another look at the colorful cast of characters that will appear in the game, but with action taking place in the air above Los Santos, on its streets and below its bodies of water, players still don't know what they're in for.

While the trio of main characters - Michael, Trevor, and Franklin - have previously been described as living something of the 'high life' in Los Santos, each new gallery of artwork and in-game screenshots seems to re-define the kinds of gameplay that fans can look forward to. That being said, we'd venture that most fans have had enough of the screenshots, and are more interested in seeing the game in action at this point.

Hopefully that will come with the official unveiling of Grand Theft Online, but until then, we have some still images of GTA5's leads turning the game world into a jumbo-sized sandbox. Have at them:

Besides the surprise inclusion of Ron - a close friend of Trevor who seems to be the 'conspiracy type' - and what looks to be Michael and Franklin planning out one of the game's signature robberies, the images prove what we already know: cars are just the beginning of the vehicular gameplay. ATVs, dune buggies, trucks, bikes, jet skis and everything in between will be laid out for the player to experiment with. Whether the combat and controls will be fine-tuned enough to make that experience a thoroughly enjoyable one... well, that remains to be seen.

So which parts of GTA5 are you hoping to see detailed next? Are all these screenshots of gameplay enough to keep your excitement building, or are you waiting for something more? Sound off in the comments.
