E3 has been nothing but good news so far. From Microsoft, we have the new Xbox 360 Slim and Kinetic. From Nintendo, we have the 3DS. From Sony, we have lots of 3D games and PlayStation Move. Each console has tons great games to look forward to. One of those Sony games might as well be the Holy Grail.
Originally with a release date of March, Gran Turismo 5 has been in the back of everyone’s mind. After a delay, several trailers, and a demo, it started to feel like Gran Turismo 5 would never see the light of day.
Sony’s E3 press conference was the perfect opportunity to deny or confirm our doubts. Lucky for us, our nightmares can be put to rest. SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton unveiled a new trailer of Gran Turismo 5 that disclosed the big news 
After waiting five years with what seems like nothing but bad news, I think it’s about time we finally have something positive to look forward to. Watch the trailer below to remember how much you still love the game.
How disgustingly beautiful does that look? I don’t even like racing games, but every time I hear something new, I’m reminded that this will be an instant buy for me. With over 900 cars, 3D game play, and mechanics that are beyond real, I don’t think there will be any wrong in Gran Turismo 5.
If you’re just as excited as I am and want to show your love for the game, there is also a collector’s edition. For $99, you will receive a 1:43 scale model by Kyosho of a 2009 Nissan GT-R Spec V, a 300-page car guide, keychain, and a voucher for five downloadable cars, including including the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Nissan GT-R GT500.

The collectable car itself makes it worth it. Sold.
My instinct is to be cynical about this. The game is years late, the design hasn't changed much over the history of the series, and I'm unlikely ever to see roughly 800 of the cars in the game. BUT – set this on the counter in front of me at any game store and I'll probably buy it.
