GR Pick Halo Reach Armor Lock Glitch

Earlier this week, Halo: Reach exploded onto the gaming scene and has been showered rave reviews. Not only is Reach the biggest entertainment launch so far this year, but it has already topped Halo 3’s record for concurrent Xbox Live users.

That being said, not everything is looking up for Bungie’s newest game. Along with the news that co-op is not available for 4GB Xbox 360s, it seems that someone has found a glitch that allows players to bypass the time limit on an armor lock. Without a time limit, the armor lock basically makes the player invincible. I feel guilty for putting this up, but I’m sure hardcore Halo: Reach fans would figure it out one way or another.

Bungie is known for their ability to create well-balanced multiplayer games, but this could severely damage their reputation. If this glitch becomes widespread, I’m afraid it could scare a large number of potential players away from the game. In my opinion, the sooner Bungie patches Reach and fixes the problem, the better.

During last night’s Game Rant Game Night, I didn’t notice any players using the glitch to their advantage, and I’m hoping not many people actually decide to use it. However, I think it would be wise for Bungie to act swiftly and ban those that do utilize this glitch in online play.

I’m going to keep playing Reach, but if Bungie knows what’s good for their online community, they will promptly release a patch that fixes the glitch.

Do glitches like this ruin gaming experiences? How should Bungie handle the problem?
