Ghost Recon Future Soldier Multiplayer Trailer

After more than five years, Ghost Recon is weeks away from making its long-awaited return with Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Set even further into the future with the most advanced tech the series has seen and employing a variety of new gameplay mechanics and modes, the ambitious and repeatedly delayed title is now demonstrating why Ubisoft required the time they used to develop it.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is more than a  modern shooter featuring co-op gameplay, it's also a platform that's aiming to relaunch the franchise and how players can experience it. We've seen the co-op campaign, we've seen the new Guerrilla horde mode and the Ghost Recon Network - now it's time to check out the competitive side of Future Soldier multiplayer.

The latest Ghost Recon: Future Soldier gameplay trailer introduces a few brief glimpses of the maps and modes found on the adversarial side of the game's multiplayer, and highlights how the game's three classes (Rifleman, Scout & Engineer) all play a different and crucial role.

Some of the game mechanics and equipment also on display include the effects of covering fire, active camo, drones, turrets, etc.

There are four modes on the competitive side of GR:FS multiplayer and the most noticeable in the trailer is Saboteur, a mode which involves the teams grabbing, moving and planting a bomb in the enemy base - the person who carries the bomb can only use his his/her sidearm while moving it slowly.

Players who partake in the game's multiplayer will be able to track their stats and progression, customize their profile weapon loadouts using GunSmith and research gameplay trips utilizing the Ghost Recon Network, the free platform available through browsers or as a downloadable app on Android and iOS devices.

Fans can get hands-on with the game's multiplayer beginning next week when the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta begins on April 19th. They can even try out the Saboteur mode a week later when it opens on the 19th.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier releases May 22, 2012 in North America, and May 24, 2012 in Europe, for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC version releases June 12.
