Genshin Impact is known for combining its long-term RPG game style with a rotating cache of experimental limited-time events. While certain past events were deemed skippable due to lackluster prizes or yawn-inducing NPCs, the new “Labyrinth Warriors” dungeon is already hailed as one of the most compelling events to date. Labyrinth Warriors combines an atmospheric dungeon crawl with interesting lore and the narrative ingenuity of playable characters Childe and Xinyan meeting for the first time - there's a lot to love.

Genshin Impact hasn’t debuted an “unmissable” event in a while, and fans of any of the above shouldn’t skip Labyrinth Warriors, even though the requirements are a bit steep for new players or those who prefer an ambling approach to the game. The event is located in Inazuma: unsurprisingly, players must have reached Adventure Rank 30 and initiated “The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia Archon Quest” for access to the closed Electro nation.

The main roadblock to Labyrinth Warriors is the mysterious “Wishes” prerequisite Genshin Impact strangely doesn’t elaborate on for players who haven’t reached it yet. “Wishes” appears at the very end of the Inazuma Archon Quests, after all of Archon Quest Chapter II is completed. This involves a couple of key battles that might be holding fans back – without any spoilers, now’s the time for those who are stuck to invest in those fresh team comps they’ve been eyeing and get back on the diligent artifact grind.

Labyrinth Warriors has another 16 days to go, so there’s ample opportunity for those in the thick of Act II to finish it up, and the event tries hard to make that extra push worth it. The “Wishes” Quest itself is easy: simply speak with Yae Miko at Grand Narukami Shrine to close the chapter on Raiden Shogun's story. Finishing this task will also unlock “Tuned to the World’s Sounds,” the simultaneous rhythm-game event ending in a couple of days. "Tuned to the World's Sounds" lacks the finesse of Labyrinth Warriors but is quick to run through once unlocked for those coveted Primogems and the equippable co-op entertainer, Floral Zither.

Once “Wishes” is finished, select “Current Trial” on the Labyrinth Warriors event page and then “Go to Quest” under “The Ominous Demesne.” Players will be prompted to visit Katheryne at the Adventurers' Guild in Inazuma City, who proceeds to petition the Traveler for another favor out of their purview. Katheryne can be forgiven this time, though – the commission is for Xinyan, stealing the spotlight after her brief appearance in Moonlight Merriment prior to a year-long in-game silence.

This begins the “Labyrinth Warriors: Part I - A Tricky Situation” Quest. Follow the dialogue prompts to speak with Kujou Sara, then meet the soldiers in Araumi before seeking out the domain directly east.

Defeat the Hilichurls guarding the domain gate and Xinyan will point out the paper cut-out lying on a rock that sparks the next bit of dialogue. Speaking of rock, players will finally get a glimpse of Xinyan’s music before the cutscene ends, and “Enter the Mystic Onmyou Chamber” unlocks the first trial, “The Ominous Demesne.”

The remaining Labyrinth Warriors trials are on a staggered release over the next 9 days, but players can assume finishing the previous floors might be necessary to advance given the plot-driven cutscene during "Ominous Demesne." Gameplay or story-wise, Genshin Impact fans have a lot more exciting Labyrinth Warriors content on the way.

Genshin Impact is available on mobile devices, PC, PS4, and PS5.
