Genshin Impact's upcoming major update will introduce a number of new characters and weapons that players can spend their precious Primogems on. The game's recent live stream event has confirmed three new character additions for the first Sumeru update.

While players can spend real-life money in order to buy wishes, the game also offers a number of different ways of getting Primogems for free. A new Genshin Impact fan-made infographic shows how many Primogems players can gather for free in the upcoming update.

The infographic reveals that by completing all the upcoming quests and world activities, players can gather around 13500 Primogems which equals approximately 84 wishes. These activities include revealing new Teleport Waypoints, going through all the Spiral Abyss floors, doing every Daily Commission in the update, etc. However, multiple replies in the comment section claim that the number of Primogems for Teleport Waypoints in the infographic is probably too high as it would mean that version has 46 different locations to teleport to which is way too many for one update.

One of the main reasons why this infographic was created is probably the fact that developer HoYoverse confirmed that the upcoming Genshin Impact update 3.0 will be one week shorter which means that players will have fewer Daily Commissions to go through which will result in fewer rewards. Primogems are by far the most important currency in the game as they allow players to wish on the banners. In order to trigger one wish, players need to spend one Intertwined or Acquaint Fate, depending on which banner they are wishing.

Intertwined Fates are used to wishing on the Limited Character and Weapon Banner which keep rotating every three weeks. Acquaint Fates can be used to pull for the less popular Standard Banner which can drop five different five-star characters: Diluc, Jean, Keqing, Qiqi and Mona. The game has confirmed that the new character Tighnari will be joining the Standard Banner at the end of update 3.0. This banner adjustment has caused a big part of the community to make the decision to skip his Limited Standard Banner.

He will arrive on the first part of the update alongside a very familiar face, the Geo user Zhongli. They will be joined by Collei, Fischl, and Diona, who will serve as the limited four-star characters on the banner. Collei is a new Dendro bow user who specializes in applying the new element on the battlefield. The official live stream for update 3.0 has confirmed that players will get one copy of Collei for free.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
