In a slip-up no doubt related to Cliff Bleszinski’s postponed appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Microsoft have officially revealed Gears of War 3. On the Xbox 360 dashboard!
The late-to-bed and early-to-rise crowd got an eyeful on the Dashboard’s Spotlight channel: “Gears of War 3 Announced. The epic story concludes April 2011.” Clicking the link didn’t actually bring up any further information, and the entire piece has since been removed from Xbox LIVE.
As of publication time, Microsoft had yet to comment on the incident. In any case, the speculation is over. Gears of War 3 is on the way.
Funnily enough, I’m now more interested in seeing Bleszinski on Late Night than I was before. I suspect he and Fallon will have plenty to say about the announcement slip-up. So, are you now officially excited for Gears of War 3?
