Ever year at this time, we begin to steadily accelerate toward the onslaught of games that will engulf us come the Holiday season. Thankfully, a few publisher have finally wised-up to the notion that we gamers might like to play some big, marquee titles before Black Friday. In just that spirit, Nintendo is all set to spring Metroid: Other M upon us at the end of August.

Co-developed by Nintendo and the Itagaki-free iteration of Tecmo’s Team Ninja, Other M looks to be both a new direction for the series and a return to some of the mechanics that Metroid was built on. Team Ninja’s Yosuke Hayashi sums it up succinctly:…

The sequel to SouthPeak Interactive’s Two Worlds, aptly named Two Worlds 2, is coming and if the brand new trailer for the title doesn’t get you excited then odds are you hate kittens and Christmas as well. Two Worlds 2 is an open world RPG that is really trying to improve on where the first game left off, and judging by the trailer it seems to be doing a pretty decent job at that task.

“Return to Antaloor” gives a brief tour of the world and then shows the basics that come together to form new gameplay mechanics. Apparently, a big aspect of the sequel will be the necessity to actually hunt animals for food and other resources to trade. Some of these animals are as bland…

Cinematic. Gorgeous. Haunting. It’s something of a given that Bungie’s last go round with the Halo universe will be be a huge sales success.

This new trailer focuses a bit more on our two protagonists and reflects a lot of the game’s modus operandi, which is fast paced action and a lot of cursing. So don’t watch this somewhere where you can get fired for naughty language, and no kids, cause that would just be awful.

If you haven’t seen the first footage yet, take a gander below and be in awe. It doesn’t matter whether or not you’re a hardcore of either franchise, the footage is pretty impressive and from what’s shown, the matches will be incredibly action oriented while still retaining strategy. After picking up your jaw from watching the video, you can take a peek at some of the screens taken. They’re sure to make any Tekken fan grin in mischief, especially seeing Ryu get some harsh competition.

At last weekend's San Diego Comic Con, Junction Point Studios and Disney Interactive Entertainment debuted the latest trailer for Disney Epic Mickey.

	//

If there is just one Wii game that I’m looking forward to this year (and, in fact, there are several), it would have to be Disney Epic Mickey.

A highly imaginative take on Mickey’s 80 years of cartoon history, with 2D and 3D gameplay, and a combination of adventure, platform, and role playing mechanics, Epic Mickey hits on just about everything I love about videogames.

This latest trailer, from last weekend’s San Diego Comic Con, only makes my anticipation that much more acute. Featuring some of Epic Mickey’s Travel Zones, which are 2D transitional levels that take place between the Venture Land hub world and the Quest Zones (which are the “proper” levels in the game), the trailer really shows off the incredible attention to detail that is quickly becoming…

Sony has released a story trailer for the upcoming PS3 and PC MMORPG, DC Universe Online - revealing Brainiac as the main antagonist... and Lex Luthor turning DC hero.

Fans of the upcoming MMORPG DC Universe Online who are wondering about the game’s story needn’t wait any longer.

Sony, combined with the efforts of Blur Studios (makers of those awesome The Old Republic cinematic trailers) have put up the first story trailer for the DC Universe Online.

The trailer is an epic affair, clocking in at six minutes. If you think that’s too long, believe me, you’ll wish it was a lot longer.

The trailer acts as the setup for the overarching story of the game – namely the notable DC heroes teaming with evil-doer Lex Luthor in an attempt to stop Brainiac from taking over the world. Yeah, Lex Luthor is bad, but Brainiac is a hell of a lot worse. At least Lex Luthor can die.

Check out the trailer for yourself below:

The Street Fighter IV panel at the San Diego Comic Con is something all fighting genre fans have been excited for. The wait is over and the panel did not disappoint. Tekken and Street Fighter producers took the stage and announced news that will rock the very foundation of fighting games world-wide. Street Fighter x Tekken exists and is coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

As rumored earlier this week there are two different version of Street Fighter x Tekken being developed, one by Capcom and the other by Namco. While the only version shows during the panel showed the Capcom version, featuring the 2.5D system used in Street Fighter IV, we can likely assume the Namco version will feature the Tekken style full 3D system.

A quote from the panel,…

Darth Vader has resorted to calling in the big guns to look for Bendak Starkiller in Force Unleashed 2. That’s right, the galaxy’s most infamous and feared bounty hunter, Boba Fett, will be hunting you.

Just the thought of Fett on your tail likely brings a sense of dismay and terror to most, but as a jedi trained under Vader Starkiller shouldn’t be too much of a problem… maybe. Fett, like any good hunter, knows that prey isn’t easily acquired without bait, so rather than go directly after Starkiller he decides to kidnap love interest Juno Eclipse in an attempt to lure Starkiller out of hiding. A smart move obviously, Fett will still need a lot of help if he intends on capturing an incredibly powerful jedi.

A glorious new trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood was released for the San Diego Comic Con, capturing all of the brutality the game’s multiplayer embraces. Near the end of the trailer a special message from Ubisoft pops up stating that the multiplayer beta will starting in September.

Check out the trailer right here:

The trailer says you’ll be able to acquire a beta key with your pre-order at select online retailers. They aren’t clear which retailers will be providing beta keys, but it’s safe to assume the usual suspects of GameStop, Amazon and Best Buy will have you covered.
A glorious new trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood was released for the San Diego Comic Con, capturing all of the brutality the game’s multiplayer embraces. Amongst the fighters that we already know that will be part of the cast shown in the trailer, four additional characters have been revealed to be joining the fight: Street Fighter‘s Chun-Li, Devil May Cry‘s Trish, and and two of the strongest nemeses of the Fantastic Four, Dr.Doom and the Super Skrull.

From the looks of the trailer Dr. Doom and Chun-Li have very similar move-sets to their MvC2 counterparts, just as all the other characters from that were in the previous game. Whether that’s a good a bad thing is completely up to the personal preference of the player. Obviously characters newly joining the game have original fighting styles. Check out the trailer for yourselves.

Showcasing the more cinematic side of the game’s multiplayer, this trailer is worth giving a look.

I know what you’re already going to be thinking as soon as it plays, “It looks like ‘Reservoir Dogs!’ ” And I definitely agree, hell, it may have been purposefully shot like that to add to the gritty crime-drama feel that the title is almost bursting with.
