Plastered in friendly animal posters, the grand re-opening of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria is almost at-hand - but not in a way most gamer's will expect. After Five Nights At Freddy's 3 was teased by solo developer Scott Cawthon two weeks ago, gamers knew that a more official reveal wouldn't be too far behind. The series has had a ludicrous development cycle, with each sequel coming out mere months after its predecessor.

Today, Five Nights At Freddy's 3 jumped into the Steam Greenlight process, and is expected to pass in record time. The second game provided a higher frequency of scares per minute, but it looks like the third game is set to take the series back to its more suspenseful roots.

Since Cawthon is an independent developer, Five Nights At Freddy's 3 must go through the Steam Greenlight process just like the first two titles. As the third iteration of the game collects votes, the description from the same page also provides fans with their first tidbits of information: the game is set 30 years after the events of the first, which saw Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria close its doors. New owners have swooped in and, with the horrific events of the first game now a distant memory to all, they've retrofitted the former pizzeria into a horror house in an attempt to cash in on an old legend.

According to the game's description, the new owners went through great lengths to salvage anything original that might have survived the events of the first game - hence the initial teaser image released weeks ago, and the Bonnie-centric trailer.

There are plenty of theories circulating already, including those claimed the solo animatronic is Golden Bonnie. However, given the events take place 30 years later, it's likely that the lone animatronic is regular Bonnie, whose exosuit has lost its color over the years. In the final clip from the teaser, you can also see Bonnie's guitar next to Mangled in the trash, which seems to lend this theory credibility. The Steam Greenlight page also included some screenshots of the in-game action, which fans can take a look at below:

With the trailer emphasizing the gameplay as one-on-one survival horror, we can't wait to see what tricks the game will throw at players - especially with the new system menu revealing players will have to deal with security cameras, an audio system and ventilation shaft controls whilst keeping an eye out for Bonnie. Notably, it looks like doors are no-go for the second game in a row.

We listed several things we wanted Five Nights At Freddy's 3 to focus on, and the screenshot of the cameras - and drastic toning-down on the amount of enemies - seems to indicate that they'll once again play an important role in gameplay. While it looks like the player is still trapped in their office, it seems too wide to fully observe at once, requiring the player to look left and right for things out of their peripheral vision.

Whilst the trailer hasn't shown much from the game itself, we're exciting to delve into some one-on-one action against a vengeful Bonnie, and fully expect the third title to present some horrifying surprises.

What do you think about Five Nights At Freddy's 3, Ranters? Are you excited about the game, or have the previous titles failed to scare you?
