The spin-off game Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, which launched on June 24, sees familiar characters from 2019's Fire Emblem: Three Houses return in a brand-new story with three diverging paths. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes combines elements of Fire Emblem's tactical gameplay with the Musou one-versus-many style of Koei Tecmo's Warriors franchise. One returning Fire Emblem element is Support Conversations, interactions that show growing bonds between pairs of characters.

Support Conversations in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes are unlocked when an eligible pair of characters reaches C, B, or A-level Support. Support Points between characters can be obtained by deploying them together on the battlefield or having them train or perform chores together. Additionally, protagonist Shez can give characters gifts or take them on Expeditions to bond through small talk. Many Support Conversation pairings return from Three Houses, but several pairs also have new supports added. These include some popular combinations that fans have been waiting to see since the launch of the first game.

Manuela and Jeritza

Jeritza, also known as the Death Knight, was added to Fire Emblem: Three Houses as DLC late in the game's life. This meant he had few Support Conversations - and fans were particularly disappointed to see that he did not interact with fellow professor Manuela, despite kidnapping and injuring her during an early mission. In Three Hopes, the two do get to interact, and their clashing personalities make for a humorous set of Supports as the flirty former songstress tries to find some sort of common ground with the grim, introverted weapons instructor.

Hubert and Lysithea

Although present since Three Houses' launch, Edelgard's retainer Hubert had among the lowest number of Support Conversations in the game due to his sinister, off-putting nature and inability to be recruited outside the Crimson Flower route. In Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Hubert gets the opportunity to bond with multiple characters from outside his original house, including Lysithea: a fellow magic enthusiast who, like Edelgard, was experimented on as a child. This series of conversations shows an unexpected brotherly side to the typically aloof Hubert.

Felix and Rodrigue

Felix of the Blue Lions house has always had a complicated relationship with his father Rodrigue. Felix feels that his father favors his dead brother, Glenn, over Felix himself, and is cold toward him as a result. However, in Three Houses, Rodrigue was an NPC who interacted primarily with Dimitri and rarely spoke to his son. Rodrigue's addition as a playable character in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes allowed the pair to finally talk out their problems face-to-face and put many of the Fraldarius family's issues to rest. Fans of Felix were excited to see this development, as they felt the interaction was much-needed for both characters' development.

Balthus and Holst

The members of the Ashen Wolves house, DLC-only characters in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, were promoted to members of the main playable cast. This gave Balthus von Albrecht, the grappling-obsessed gambler from the Leicester Alliance, a chance to chat with his childhood friend Holst from House Goneril. As two of the game's brashest, most confident character, their interacts are quite a treat. The pair clearly care deeply for one another, and are always there when the other is down. Balthus is even able to provide some helpful advice and so Holst can improve his relationship with his sometimes difficult younger sister Hilda.

Byleth and Jeralt

Jeralt, a famed mercenary known as the Blade Breaker, was given little to do in Fire Emblem: Three Hopes beyond dying early on as part of an assassination plot. Jeralt's early death combined with his child Byleth's nature as a "silent protagonist" led to the pair having precious little time to exchange any sort of meaningful conversations. This is remedied in Three Hopes, where both characters can be recruited late into the game, and a now fully voiced Byleth is able to bond with their father. The family relationship between these two, now including a proper Support Conversation, is truly heartwarming.

Marianne and Bernadetta

Marianne of the Golden Deer and Bernadetta of the Black Eagles are characters with a lot in common. Both are shy and start the story lacking self-confidence, in-part due to a strained relationship with their respective fathers. They have similar story arcs centering around gaining confidence and becoming more open with their friends and themselves. Fans suspected that a conversation between the two would be interesting in Three Houses, and Three Hopes proved this theory correct with the pair connecting over their experiences.
