The PS5-exclusive version of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has arrived, bringing improved visuals and shorter load times. The new version is entitled Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, and also includes a bonus expansion with additional player character, Yuffie. The extra DLC is included with the purchase of Intergrade, but must be bought separately for those players upgrading for free from the PS4 version.

The INTERmission DLC, which has been nicknamed the Yuffie DLC by the community, takes place over two chapters that run alongside the main storyline. This is followed by several post-credits scenes, one of which shows the main party meeting a familiar side-character on the road to Kalm. Hitchhiking down a dusty highway, the characters are picked up by an old Chocobo farmer in his truck, who many fans recognized as Choco Bill. SPOILERS AHEAD.

Chocobo Bill's Cameo in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Subtitles in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade INTERmission DLC post-credits sequence name the farmer as Chocobo Bill, while the original character was just called Choco Bill. However, there's no doubt that this is a cameo of the Chocobo farmer from the game's second act. The character has Choco Bill's distinctive spiky grey hair, forked beard, heavy goggles, and red bandana.

It takes Barret standing in the middle of the road to get Chocobo Bill to pick up the party in his truck, offering them a ride on the way to Kalm. It doesn't seem particularly comfortable, especially for Barret, who is stuck in the back with Cloud and the Chocobos. Meanwhile, Aerith and Tifa ride up front with Chocobo Bill, who doesn't seem to mind their company. The cameo ends with the old Chocobo farmer dropping the team off on the crossroad between Kalm and his Chocobo farm.

Choco Bill in the original Final Fantasy 7

In the original Final Fantasy 7, players visited Choco Bill's farm in order to obtain a Chocobo to safely ride through the marshes to Mythril Mine. This meeting is likely to happen again in some form in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake sequel, despite the game's divergence from the original plot.

Catching, raising, and breeding Chocobos was quite a large gameplay element in the original Final Fantasy 7, and is likely to make a return in the remake's sequel. If the upcoming game follows the vague story-arc of Final Fantasy 7's second act, then players will reunite with Choco Bill after their visit to Kalm.

The first chapter of Final Fantasy 7's second act is called The Tragedy of Five Years Ago, and takes place mostly in Kalm and in flashbacks. On completing the chapter, players move on to Going After Sephiroth, in which they need to cross the marsh to get to the Mythril Mine. Assuming the Final Fantasy 7 Remake sequel follows the same plot, players are likely to encounter Choco Bill and his Chocobo farm early in the game's story.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available now for PS4 and PS5.
