Square Enix Japan releases a brand new video that features Final Fantasy 15's main character Noctis and his party riding chocobos and taking them into combat.

With the large, flightless birds known as chocobos having made an appearance in practically every game in the Final Fantasy franchise since its second installment, many fans would consider the animals to be the series' unofficial mascot, so it only makes sense that the creatures would show up in Square Enix's forthcoming Final Fantasy 15. With that being the case, Final Fantasy 15's developers have decided to give fans a taste of what it will be like to ride chocobos in the RPG once it releases by putting out a video online that features the horse-esque critters galloping across the game's landscapes and battling enemies.

Although Square Enix has already previously revealed the existence of chocobos in Final Fantasy 15 with the game's director Hajime Tabata listing the ability to race them as one of the title's 200-plus side quests, the footage gives fans a better idea of how they will be designed in the latest sequel. Not to mention, the clip allows developers yet another chance to show off FF 15's incredibly advanced visuals that are driven by the Luminous Studio game development engine.

As seen in the below footage that was initially shown during Square Enix's recent Active Time Report Community Special, Noctis and his pals basically spend a whole day and night riding the chocobos throughout the title's beautiful game world, dining with them by a campfire, and using them as mounts to battle foes. Interestingly enough, though, the chocobos will make themselves an additional ally in combat by also taking it upon themselves to fight enemies when the time presents itself.

Taking into account chocobo riding being yet another element that will be included in Final Fantasy 15, it stands to reason why the forthcoming RPG is thought of by many to be one of the 10 most anticipated games to be shown at E3 2016. Though Square Enix has yet to officially announce exactly what it will cover during the event for Final Fantasy 15, most fans of the long-running franchise will more than likely come away pleased.

At any rate, with fans having scooped up practically every copy of Final Fantasy 15's Ultimate Collector's Editions once they were announced, it's obvious that the RPG is one of the most eagerly awaited games in recent memory. As a matter of fact, the demand was so high that Square Enix stated it would make more Collector's Editions for those who missed out on the first wave. Hopefully, developers will be able to live up to the hype once the final product officially launches.
