Far Cry Primal has only been out for a day, but that hasn't stopped some of its players from unearthing a few of the game's entertaining secrets. Gamers already knew that Ubisoft had promised fans of the publishers' many popular franchises some surprises within Far Cry Primal, which has resulted in a few players dedicating themselves to searching the in-game world for easter eggs. Today, two different easter eggs were found, paying homage to the Blood Dragons from Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and the daring actions of the protagonists in the Assassin's Creed series.

Far Cry Primal is already being praised for its open-world, prehistoric gameplay, and the development team truly embraced the game's chronological setting in crafting the easter eggs discovered today. With some work, players can discover a secret cave in Far Cry Primal that houses the skeleton of a Blood Dragon. Those willing to take the time to explore the cave will also be rewarded with an achievement for their troubles, while the existence of the Blood Dragon seems to hint toward the fact that Far Cry Primal takes place within the same universe as the other Far Cry games. That knowledge itself is a little easter egg for fans of the open-world adventure series' narratives and different timelines.

While the first easter egg is one near and dear to the Far Cry series' heart, the second is one that is more just an entertaining reference for Ubisoft fans. Far Cry Primal allows players to perform the "leap of faith", a move that has been ubiquitous within the Assassin's Creed franchise. Just in case players don't immediately make the connection, however, the game also plays familiar music from Assassin's Creed once the player has made the leap. Interestingly enough, Far Cry Primal also features a trophy for completing the Kanda of Faith, Far Cry Primal's own version of the leap made famous by Ezio and Altair.

The setting of Far Cry Primal might have made it a little harder to include references to other Ubisoft hits, but the extra effort that has gone into their inclusion has also made them more fun. The refreshing new take on the Far Cry series has stuck to the formula that made the previous iterations successful, but that hasn't stopped some innovations within Far Cry Primal, like the ability to ride a saber-tooth tiger.

Of course, Ubisoft isn't the only publisher that's made headlines recently for including easter eggs within their big releases. Bethesda's Fallout 4 has an incredible amount of easter eggs, and gamers can only hope that Far Cry Primal ends up a few more as entertaining as the ones discovered early.
