The Enclave appear throughout the Fallout series and acts as the enemy to a majority of the games. The Enclave are always found clad in their power armor, patrolling the wastelands of America. The Enclave are notoriously evil, killing off mutated inhabitants of the wastes and using their power to take territory by force.

The Enclave are featured as the main antagonists of Fallout 3, fighting against the Brotherhood of Steel for control of the former capital. During this game, the player is able to learn more about the mysterious organization and their past. Throughout the series, though, a little more of this organization's past will be revealed.

10 Able To Mind Control Deathclaws

The player can come across Enclave camps in Fallout 3 that are full of deathclaws. Something to notice though is that the deathclaw has a device on its head. This is being used to control the creature and have it fight for the Enclave.

Working with the Brotherhood of Steel will allow the player to take control of these deathclaws and use them as a temporary companion. Players who find these with Enclave can damage the deathclaw's head, making them attack their Enclave handlers.

9 Wastelanders Considered Impure

When it comes to the citizens of the wastelands, the Enclave considers them to be impure. This includes humans who have not turned into super mutants or ghouls. In fact, the Enclave considered wasteland humans to be on the same level as the others.

Despite this, the Enclave will use the wastelanders as conscripted soldiers or slaves. When it comes down to it, the Enclave thinks these humans should be killed off to make way for a clean America.

8 Enclave Behind Vault Experiments

The experiments in the vaults are the doing of the Pre-War Enclave. The Enclave did this to test subjects under unique circumstances, such as 1 man and 999 women to Vault 69 and releasing the inhabitants after 10 years in Vault 8. This means the Enclave had control over the vaults after the Great War.

While a lot of the vaults fell apart and are found abandoned, a few are still intact and working as they should. These examples include Vault 81 and Vault 8, which are still inhabited and full of healthy citizens.

7 The Player Can Join The Enclave

In Fallout 76, the player is able to join the Enclave. After exiting Vault 76, the player will be guided to join the army, where the player can gain access to the Whitespring Bunker. After entering and speaking to MODUS, the player can follow the steps to become a member of the Enclave.

The player's entrance to the Enclave doesn't end there. Through another quest, the player can become an officer. By completing this, the player will gain the rank of general, becoming a high ranking member of the organization.

6 Might Have Outposts In Chicago

The Enclave most likely has outposts in Chicago, as suggested by a recording found on the companion ED-E. The player can listen and hear a scientist mention how ED-E is being sent to the Enclave outposts located in Chicago.

This would be interesting, as Fallout: Tactics takes place around the area of Chicago. There could have been a few Brother of Steel and Enclave battles that ensued if the player entered the city.

5 ED-E Was Once Enclave

Speaking of ED-E, the companion was once used by the Enclave. The eyebot left Adams Air Force Base in Maryland and floated its way to the Mojave Wasteland. Hints of the Capital Wasteland can be found, as stickers for Roosevelt Academy can be found on ED-E.

As a companion, the player can figure out more about the robot's past as they travel together. Discovering the eye boy's past comes with benefits, such as better armor or weapons for ED-E.

4 Enclave Remnants Inhabit The Mojave Wasteland

Old members of the Enclave can be found in the Mojave Wasteland. These soldiers were at Navarro when it was attacked, but managed to get away. Their roles vary, some of the members were vertibird pilots, officers, or scientists. Escaping being hunted down, they hid around New Vegas.

The player can convince the Enclave remnants to fight for either the New California Republic or Caesar's Legion during the Battle of Hoover Dam. When seen at the dam, they will be donning the uniform of their old lives.

3 Enclave Has Orbital Weapons

It should be no surprise that the Enclave has orbital weapons. They have access to old military facilities and technology from before the war. What also should be no surprise is the Enclave would use these weapons on their enemies.

In Fallout 3, the Enclave lures the Brotherhood of Steel into a trap. When it is least expected, the Enclave uses an orbital weapon to destroy Liberty Prime, destroying their enemies' most powerful weapon.

2 Grand Zealot Richter Was Enclave

Grand Zealot Richter is a member of the Children of Atom in the Far Harbor DLC for Fallout 4. What might not have been expected is that Richter was once a soldier in the Enclave.

By talking to Richter, the player is able to learn how Richter left the Enclave and joined the Children of Atom. Richter was on a mission to retrieve fusion cores but got trapped in a room of radiation. After days and his squad dying, Zealot Tektus rescued him. After this, Richter devoted his life to Atom.

1 The President Is An AI

While human presidents have been seen in the earlier Fallout games, the president in Fallout 3 is an AI. He can be found and talked to after the player is brought to Raven Rock. From here, the player can either leave him alive or blow up the facility, killing the AI president.

Because he is an AI, President Eden takes bits of personality from past presidents of America. Eden makes childhood references to Kentucky and playing baseball, despite obviously not being able to live this life. Either way, the president is an AI, and the soldiers are sworn to protect him.
