In their ever-growing pursuit of worldwide sales domination, Bethesda Softworks has announced yet another pre-order bonus for Fallout 4, this one for Steam users. Those who pre-order the game through Valve’s digital marketplace will unlock a Mister Handy announcer pack for Dota 2, further bridging the gap between Fallout 4 and nearly every other game on the planet.

While few would blame Bethesda for releasing Fallout 4 as is, the studio’s hope of making the game one of the most successful clearly requires a lot of work. It’s not just about pre-order bonuses either – although there are a surprising amount of them – but by making sure players know all of the finer points about the game.

Mister Handy, for example, is one of the companion characters featured in Fallout 4 – a modified version of the familiar, multi-armed robot seen throughout the post-apocalyptic series. His stilted and appropriately robotic dialogue has been teased plenty in Fallout 4 trailers, and should prove to be a fun change of pace for Dota 2 players.

According to the Steam pre-order page, the Mister Handy Announcer Pack will go live in mid-November, likely a short time after Fallout 4 has released on November 10th. And for some clarity, the Announcer Pack will:

"The Dota 2 Fallout 4 Announcer Pack will replace the Default announcer and Mega-Kills announcer with the voice of everyone’s favorite robotic butler, Mister Handy.”

That being said, we’re not entirely sure how much crossover there is between the Fallout and Dota fan bases. Neither franchise has much in common with the other, outside of a decided focus on the PC. Still, for those players who happen to be fans of both immensely popular franchises, this is a fun little bonus. Also, even if you are not a Dota 2 player, we’d bet you will pre-order through Steam anyway, so this can be a fun little gift for a friend.

With a little over two weeks until the release of Fallout 4, Bethesda has seemingly put the marketing train in overdrive. They’ve finished out their S.P.E.C.I.A.L. series of instructional videos, announced more pre-order bonuses, and even put the Pip-Boy Edition back on sale for a lucky few.

Unfortunately, the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Editions are selling out faster than anyone expected, and therefore are extremely hard to find. Luckily, there is a new offer for Fallout 4 early purchases that includes a pair of Vault Boy socks. Yes, it’s not the same as a “working” Pip-Boy replica, but is still cool nonetheless.

Fallout 4 releases November 10, 2015 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
