One fan of Fallout 4 gives rapper The Notorious B.I.G. life after death by putting Biggie Smalls in Bethesda's retro-futuristic RPG with the use of mods.

Throughout the history of Bethesda's post-apocalyptic franchise, there have been plenty of different faces for the game's Mysterious Stranger (which happens to be one of our picks for the best perks in the series pre-Fallout 4), but now, thanks to modder Gyashaa, the character will be replaced by Brooklyn's own Notorious B.I.G should fans install the script. Interestingly enough, however, Big Poppa chooses not to sport the Mysterious Stranger's typical brown trench coat, and instead goes with his iconic, albeit more conspicuous all-white three-piece suit, complete with Homburg hat to match.

Called "The Mysterious B.I.G.", the mod not only prompts Biggie to show up by surprise when players combine the VATS combat mode and the Mysterious Stranger perk, but it also plays one of 20 different songs from the late rapper's oeuvre while he polishes off a bad guy with his revolver. As Gyashaa explains on the mod's NexusMods page, the inspiration behind putting the Notorious B.I.G. in Fallout 4 simply stemmed from the desire "to show respect to one of the greatest rappers of all time."

Gyashaa's mod doesn't really alter Fallout 4's gameplay all that much, but it definitely injects a sense of style and flair that's uncommon in the title's Boston Commonwealth. Nevertheless, whether one's a fan of Notorious B.I.G. or just enjoys the action-RPG itself, they would do well to watch the video below, as it compiles all of the different tracks included in the mod, with the subject matter from the majority of the rapper's lyrics syncing up perfectly with the situation.

Of course, Gyashaa's "The Mysterious B.I.G." mod is far from the first fan-made alteration for Fallout 4, but it's quite possibly one of the most ingenious scripts put together since the title's release. While the wackier, more off-the-wall creations like the Macho Man mod and the Thomas the Tank Engine mod are certainly entertaining, it's not every day that fans are able to incorporate such a fitting pop culture reference into the game.

Naturally, there are plenty of mods out there which are a lot more useful than "The Mysterious B.I.G." that fans can install for Fallout 4, such as those that improve performance, or more specifically, the mod helping keep track of companions. Unfortunately, though, until Bethesda makes mods available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, PC fans are the only ones able to reap their benefits at the moment.

What do you think about the mod that adds Notorious B.I.G. to Fallout 4? Have you found any that actually tops Gyashaa's contribution to the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Fallout 4 is out now and is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
