Evo 2019 is underway at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Nevada, featuring the top fighting game players in the world duking it out in some thrilling matches. One of the most exciting Evo 2019 matches so far was the Winners Final Match for Bandai Namco's Soulcalibur 6 between Skyll and Yuttoto.

The Soulcalibur 6 Winners Final at Evo 2019 saw Skyll and Yuttoto compete in one of the closest matches of the tournament by far. Near the end of the fight, Yuttoto's Voldo had the advantage over Skyll's Mitsurugi. However, Skyll was able to land a devastating Critical Edge attack that significantly depleted Yuttoto's health meter, which was followed up by a few hits that left Yuttoto with such a small health meter that it was hardly even visible.

Yuttoto then activated his Soul Charge to put some distance between himself and Skyll. Yuttoto used his increased attack power from his Soul Charge to land some well-timed shots on Skyll that chipped away at his health meter even further, to the point that it was next hit wins. Yuttoto miraculously blocked an attack from Skyll, and then finally finished him off. The crowd erupted after Yuttoto finished his incredible comeback, and even Skyll looked impressed by what just happened.

Since Evo gathers the best fighting game players in the world for its tournaments, intense matches are commonplace, but few can match the sheer excitement of this Soulcalibur 6 Winners Final bout. With Evo 2019 far from over, though, there's still plenty of matches that could deliver similarly exciting moments, so fighting game fans should be sure to stay tuned to the event throughout the weekend.

While there's been plenty of excitement at this year's event, not everything at Evo 2019 has gone off without a hitch. In fact, a Tekken 7 tournament match was ruined when the PS4 system contestants were playing on crashed mid-match. Of course, technical issues can happen and are expected, but it's lucky that nothing like that plagued the excellent Skyll vs. Yuttoto bout.

Both Skyll and Yuttoto put forth a great effort, and it will be interesting to see how their fighting game careers evolve moving forward.

Soulcalibur 6 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
