Jackbox Games have become the premiere party game developers, with The Jackbox Party Pack series being some of the most accessible and easy party games to play. What makes these games so great is the ability to connect to the game via a smartphone, and that only one person needs to own the game for everyone to play. This has also led to The Jackbox Party Pack games becoming popular for streamers since audience members can connect through their smartphones and play with the person streaming.

Jackbox Games was formerly known as Jellyvision Games and were most well known for their You Don't Know Jack trivia games. The early pandemic trend of zoom quizzes definitely proves that trivia games have a persistent appeal. From pub quizzes to game shows, it's clear that people love trivia. While The Jackbox Party Pack series offers a variety of unique and engaging games, the trivia games will always be some of the most universally appealing games included.

The Jackbox Party Pack

The first Jackbox Party Pack contains a version of the original trivia game by the developer, You Don't Know Jack 2015. This game is for 1 to 4 players, and they earn in-game money as they correctly answer trivia within a time limit. The most money at the end of the game wins. There is also a sort of sabotage mechanic called "screws" where one player can force another player to answer the question immediately; the player that "screws" another player can earn points/in-game money if the "screwed" player fails to answer correctly and immediately.

The first party pack also contains Lie Swatter, where up to 100 players must guess whether a trivia statement is true or false. Like the previous game, the faster a question is answered the more points are received, and the winner is the player with the most points at the end. The trivia facts for this are either obscure or outrageous, making it more difficult (and fun) to guess which ones are true.

Probably one of the most popular Jackbox trivia games is Trivia Murder Party. This game is included in The Jackbox Party Pack 3, and is a comedic, Saw inspired horror trivia game. Trivia Murder Party is a great choice for anyone who finds straight trivia games boring, and it just shakes up the trivia genre in all the right ways. Players can die in the game's minigames, and then can play as a ghost. The end of the game is a race where players correctly answer questions to move forward and whoever reaches the door first (or is the last surviving player) wins; it's also possible for all players to die. A sequel game, Trivia Murder Party 2, is included in The Jackbox Party Pack 5, and this game features additional minigames, in-game items, and more.

The Jackbox Party Pack 5 has another version of Jackbox Games' original trivia game, You Don't Know Jack: Full Stream. This version of the game has been adapted to be streaming-friendly and can be played by up to 8 people plus an audience. The question formats and rules mirror the previous You Don't Know Jack games.

The upcoming party pack release from Jackbox Games will feature a new trivia game called The Wheel of Enormous Proportions. Hosted by the eponymous wheel, this game show style game can have between 2 to 8 players. Players begin by asking the wheel "burning questions", and at the end, the wheel will answer the winning player's question. There are roughly 12 different round types to play in this fun take on a trivia game.

There's a reason Trivial Pursuit is one of the most popular board games of all time, and films like Slumdog Millionaire fed the idea that seemingly useless knowledge we pick up in our lifetimes will someday help to answer questions at the most pivotal moment. Jackbox Games have created an incredibly easy and fun way to test this general knowledge with friends, and The Jackbox Party Pack games feature a ton more unique and interesting games if trivia ever gets too tiresome.
