Alongside a variety of new Delves, quests, items and other content, the Deadlands DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online also introduces two new world bosses - the Infernium Unmaker and Taupezu Azzida. Like most World Bosses in the game, it's best to take these creatures on with a group – though they certainly offer a satisfying challenge for Solo players too.
The two World Bosses are located on either side of the map of the Deadlands, and each is tied to a unique Daily quest that can be picked up in Fargrave. Because the Elder Scrolls Online Deadlands DLC is still so new, it's easy to down these bosses as dozens of players are all taking them on at once. Later on, though, players will need to think more carefully about their approach.
How To Beat The Infernium Unmaker
The Infernium Unmaker is a terrifying Daedric entity that resembles a Daedric Siege Engine from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - and it has the might to back up that resemblance. It's so powerful, in fact, that it reforms in the Deadlands faster than just about any other Daedra, making it the subject of Fargrave Daedrologists' curiosity.
This World Boss is associated with the "The Mind's Eye" Daily Quest and is picked up near the other Dailies in the Fargrave City District (its location should be highlighted on your compass). The quest tells players that the Unmaker is being studied by Vares Dredayn, who wants to learn more about the Unmaker's rapid regeneration using Seeing Stones.
Location of the Unmaker
The Infernium Unmaker is located in the Western portion of the Deadlands, right next to Ardent Hope and just North of the Blood Pits. Travel to the Blood Pits Wayshrine and travel Northward on the road for a minute or two to find the location of this Daedric entity.
Strategies and Rewards
The Unmaker is not the only boss players face in his World Boss zone. Alongside it are the Havocrel Tormentor and the Havocrel Legionary. Their health is a fraction of The Unmaker's, but they prove to be annoyances that DPS should take out as soon as possible. The Unmaker itself will use AoE and single-target attacks, while the Havocrels will blast fire all over the battlefield. Like in any MMO, just stay out of the fire to avoid dying – the damage ticks up much faster than many players expect, and thus it's proving to be the more deadly of the two Deadlands World Bosses so far.
As part of the "The Mind's Eye" Daily Quest, players are rewarded with a Deadlands Daily Reward Coffer that always includes a Deadlands Style Motif. This Coffer can also contain anything from zone-specific Armor Sets, Deadlands Antiquities Leads, crafting materials, and other possible lesser rewards.
How To Beat Taupezu Azzida
Taupezu Azzida is, by all accounts, a Draconic World Boss, though one has to wonder how an ethereal drake such as Taupezu made its way to the Oblivion Plane of Mehrunes Dagon. Nevertheless, Azzida is a powerful force in the Deadlands and even receives regular sacrifices from the Dagonists.
This World Boss's associated Daily Quest is "A Paralyzing Lesson" and can be picked up in the Fargrave City District, which fills players in on the backstory of Taupezu Azzida. Players are sent to give an antidote to a number of Saraathu Tong members who were paralyzed by the Waking Flame cult and placed near Azzida's lair as a sacrifice.
Location of Taupezu Azzida
Taupezu Azzida is found in the North-Eastern portion of the map, just above the Wretched Spire Wayshrine. Go North from the Wretched Spire Wayshrine, following the road, then turn right at the first fork. There should be a small path that veers to the left after a few meters – follow this to reach the Lair of Taupezu Azzida.
Strategies and Rewards
Azzida is found in a storm-ridden area of the Deadlands. As such, watch out for random bolts of lightning that will thunder down from above during the boss fight – they aren't quite insta-kills, but enough of them consecutively will down a player. Have DPS switch to the Conduits and Storm Atronachs that spawn while the Tank puts their efforts solely into keeping Azzida's attention.
As part of the "A Paralyzing Lesson" Daily Quest, players are rewarded with a Deadlands Daily Reward Coffer containing a Deadlands Style Motif. This Coffer can also contain anything from zone-specific Armor Sets, Leads for Deadlands Antiquities, materials, and other minor rewards.
