According to Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Patcher, on a recent GameTrailers Bonus Round, Epic has to be regretting the decision to make Gears of War a Microsoft exclusive title.
When asked if it made sense for games companies to release single platform titles, Michael Patcher said:
“Absolutely not, and I think the Epic guys can’t wait until they can start doing multiplatform games”
And when further pressed about whether or not PS3 gamers might see Gears of War in the future, he replied:
“I don’t. I think that Microsoft has a contract to make sure that they get that sequel, But I think Epic regrets signing that contract” … “You’re up to 11 million PS3 in the US and probably similar number in Europe, you got a 20 million addressable market with a game like Gears of War, I mean that thing would easily sell 3 or 4 million on the PS3; that’s a lot of profit.”
So it’s no surprise to anyone that we’ll only be seeing a Gears of War sequel on a Microsoft branded console. What’s your take? Do you think single platform titles are a thing of the past? Would you liked to have seen Gears of War released on the PS3? Leave us your comments!

Pachter really isn't the smartest person to me, he also said that Borderlands would be crushed because of MW2 and the fact that it is a new IP. Guess what? It was one of the best selling new IPs of 2009. If I remember correctly, Epic actually had Microsoft put more memory in the 360. Regret? I think that whatever they want, Microsoft will do because of how well they have done with Gears. Pachter should stick to “guessing” the obvious.
as a fanboy, not really looking for gow for ps3, wut i do want on ps3 is MASS EFFECT. that is all.
There's an update on this coming – Epic doesn't regret their deal with Microsoft but secretly they probably do as they would of easily sold several million more copies if this were on PS3 as well and likely would have broken some total sales units records.
Stay tuned for more on this soon.
Being a 360 guy…I said the same thing about God of War
I still have no regrets about shelling out the cash on both consoles. There's no console war if you've got both sides fighting for you
But then again, my wallet was definitely a casualty.
i cant imagein playing this on my ps3 tbh altho it could make much more sales if it was on ps3
