With the official unveiling of the Xbox One earlier this morning, gamers and game-makers have crossed into new and exciting territory. Now, publishers and developers can finally talk about their upcoming next-gen games not as nebulous ideas, but real products, and gamers can eagerly anticipate them.

While Electronic Arts' presence at Microsoft's Xbox One event was focused on their EA Sports brand, they wanted to make sure their non-sports titles weren't overlooked. And so EA has come out to explain what gamers have to look forward to from the publisher in the near, and far-flung future.

It starts with Battlefield 4, which EA officially confirmed is headed to both the PS4 and the Xbox One. Gamers that want an idea of what Battlefield will look like in the next-gen should look no further than the 17-minute gameplay video that EA released in March. As EA's Frank Gibeau explains, "That demo was actually showcasing the next generation of Battlefield, which will run on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and will also be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3."

However, if gamers want to get a closer look at Battlefield 4 in action, EA has confirmed their E3 2013 press conference will fit that bill nicely. The publisher confirmed appearances by Battlefield 4, Need for Speed, the full range of EA Sports, and a "first look at our plans for the Star Wars partnership with Disney."

Although EA has confirmed the various Star Wars games they have in-development won't launch until 2014 at the earliest, that doesn't mean they can't get the ball rolling with a juicy announcement. We know that DICE, BioWare, and Visceral Games are each working on a Star Wars game of some sort, so perhaps we will hear specifically what they are working on.

However, since these games have likely only been in development for a few months, we'd be surprised to see any actual footage. So with nothing to show, what will EA announce? That's where things might get interesting.

Although it's entirely possible EA will show off some concept art or rough designs, the more exciting possibility is that they will announce an old franchise is being rebooted, or resuscitated. We've speculated on it several times already, but we're doing it again: DICE. Battlefront. Boom.

Regardless of what they do show, EA is smart to build off the Xbox One reveal by confirming some of their next-gen plans. Now bring on E3.
