Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim New Screens

The previous game in the Elder Scrolls series, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, came out to rave reviews back in 2006, proving popular enough to be re-released on the PS3 in March of 2007, and a Game of the Year edition in September of that year. After this, fans began to eagerly anticipate the arrival of the next game in the franchise.

The 2010 Spike Video Game Awards revealed a trailer for the upcoming game, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but perhaps more importantly, a release date of November 11, 2011, was revealed as well. Since then, details have been surfacing regarding the upcoming game, such as what the story may be, the combat system, and the redesigned menus.

Most recently, a Danish game magazine by the name of Game Reactor featured an interview with Bethesda that included two new screens that show more of the upcoming game.

Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim Waterfall

This screenshot continues to show off the impressive graphics of the upcoming title, looking very much like a real pond one would find while exploring the nearby woods. This could also be connected to the already released screenshot of the town in the mountains, though this is just speculation.

Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim Woman

This one shows what is most likely a tavern of sorts that a player would find in a town they would travel to. Would this just be a place for your character to rest up after a long battle, or is this place more integral to the plot of the game? We’ll just have to wait and see. Even the barmaid seen here could become an important part of the game, depending on how things progress.

With all the speculation surrounding the upcoming game, one has to wonder about all the theories created in regards to this title. Is the story going to herald the end of the franchise, as has been hinted at? Are you guys looking forward to how your actions will affect the tale surrounding your character? Or are you just wanting to take on some dragons?

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is set to come out on November 11, 2011, for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

  1. this is old news, bring out some new screen shots like on mounts or something

  2. wow just wow

  3. My god… like i am so excited

  4. Looking good so far….And the graphics for the characters looks good. Hopefully you can start fighting with anyone by tuanting just like in Morrowind! And they should diffinitely put back the Warewolf side quest since its homeland of Nords. Just can’t wait! for the game to come out

  5. Uhhh, Game informer covered these pics like a month ago.

  6. I still haven’t seen anything to make me believe that I’ll be any more invested in Skyrim than I was in Oblivion, which I found almost unbearably boring. Looks nice, though.

  7. I have not heard anywhere that the franchise is ending after skyrim. It being hinted at is just your assumption. The elder scrolls is such a massive franchise that it could continue on 10, 15, maybe even 20 more years easily.

  8. The environment looks astonishing, and that’s not an easy thing to accomplish. I was a fan of Oblivion, but it never really became something that I was heavily interested in. With all the changes that Bethesda is putting into Skyrim, it will be a fresh take on the RPG genre, and who knows? It might even just catch on.

  9. Holy dragon poo! im going to game stop right now to reserve it lol

  10. These pics are not new. They were released in January in Gameinformer.

  11. With all the changes being made, i hope that one of them is lockpicking. =/ oblivion has the worst lockpicking ever IMO

  12. I just spritzd’ my panties!

  13. Cant wait to see more, yes OBV4, does get a bit boring, mission wise, but I never found it boring, just to wander around the world of Tamriel, So if the shots of Skyrim are anything to go by, I am going to enjoy exploring this new facet of the Elder scrolls,

  14. Guys check out the hanging chandelier! Dragon teeth? :)

  15. i am soooooo exited for this game. Even with the changes that they are making i think this will be an awesome game. Some changes they need to make are better/longer quests. i found quests too short and some were not that good. Im sure this game will live up to my expectations.

  16. My graphics card shoot itself right after i saw the screenshots… I’m definately gonna buy it! Razor1911, please leave this game alone

  17. screenshots look phenomenal, I have been eagerly awaiting th new release of another Elder Scrolls… I am looking forward to what Bethesda will bring to the table on this game

  18. Screens look impressive, then again so did Oblivion’s before it was released. Lets not jump to conclusions here because Bethesda has a track record for misleading it’s fan base using screens alone. Every iteration of the game seems to yield the same old promises, dynamic world, races we never met before and the most infamous catch phrases “bigger landscape than previous titles” they seem to never learn from their own legacy in gaming history.

The only thing that could profoundly change:

    – politics
    – scope of war
    – story
    – guilds
    – game play (this should like take high priority)
    – bug-less toolsets that actually work out of the box
    – realistic atmosphere and time that is reflective of it
    – NO MORE GLOBAL VARIABLES! We want true game dynamics.

  19. MMMMMMMMM! WAIT i only looked at her boobs
