Like most games from developer FromSoftware, Elden Ring displays a robust character creation system that allows players to create the character of their dreams, especially those based on famous characters like Dragon Ball’s Master Roshi or Metal Gear’s Venom Snake. Now, a new video has surfaced of not just one custom character, but an entire team resembling the popular heroes in half-shell.

Originally announced at E3 2019, Elden Ring was shrouded in mystery for some time, before being re-unveiled in 2021. The game, directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki with world building elements written by Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, follows the adventures of the Tarnished, exiled beings brought back to life to search for the Great Runes, shattered pieces of an ancient relic known as the Elden Ring, which holds power over the Lands Between.

The main draw of games developed by FromSoftware, such as Bloodborne or the Souls series, is the challenging gameplay that forces players to stay on their toes. FromSoft has shaken up the formula slightly with the addition of multiplayer elements in Elden Ring that allow players to tackle encounters together, and one group did just so, but with their Tarnished outfitted to resemble a specific crime-fighting team.

In a clip posted to Reddit’s r/Eldenring, user Vahaen showcased their team in Elden Ring preparing to do battle with Margit, but the party customized to resemble the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The user’s staff and purple mask dictates them as Donatello, while the other two players clearly resemble Raphael and Leonardo based on their respective masks and weapon choices as well.

While this is not the first time players have customized their characters to resemble to Ninja Turtles in Elden Ring, this is still a very impressive use of the character customizing system. It’s even more impressive to watch the gameplay footage unfold and the players live up to the TMNT’s mantra of teamwork as they easily dispatch Margit before the theme song has even finished.

With the TMNT due for a comeback in video games with Shredder’s Revenge and the recently announced Cowabunga Collection both due for release later this year, it’s exciting to the see fans represent the franchise in one of the biggest video games of the year. Perhaps it won't long before the Turtles receive their own AAA video game.

Elden Ring is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
