The tweet announces that the expansion, which is currently in development, will be titled "Shadow of the Erdtree." Alongside this tweet is a single picture, depicting a figure with long blonde hair atop a spirit steed, possibly Torrent, as she gazes out from what looks to be the outskirts of the Lands Between, seeing the destroyed Erdtree in the distance as it leaks a golden liquid from its husk.

The woman's location, which could be Elden Ring's Badlands, is a wide, hilly field of weeds among the ruins of buildings, with what appear to be the spiritual images of gravestones. While more is sure to come, not much additional information was given about the expansion, leaving fans to speculate once again with the one illustration they have.

While the question of what the expansion will be titled has been answered, only more questions follow the announcement, most prominent being the identity of the figure and how important she will be to the story. Elden Ring recently passed a milestone of 20 million copies sold, and thus many have high expectations as to what the next chapter of the game will bring. In the coming months, there's hope that more info will surface.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
