Elden Ring features many memorable boss fights, and as time has gone on, equally unforgettable player summons have appeared. Much like "The Wall" and "Giant Dad" from Dark Souls, some Elden Ring players are becoming legendary within the community, and a new legend may have just begun.
Memorable Elden Ring summons have taken a few forms. For instance, most are familiar with the kindhearted “Let Me Solo Her,” a gamer that has helped other Tarnished defeat Malenia 1,000 times. Others, like “Jump With Me,” have aimed to carry out some trust exercises with their fellow gamers. Of course, there are malevolent invaders, with one of the most well-known being the terrifying “Stormveil Stalker.” Now, it seems like players have a chance to be assisted by a version of Maliketh that is out of his prime.
Maliketh, the Black Blade is one of the last major bosses that players will face off against in Elden Ring, so it is fitting that he is treated as a major threat. His signature weapon allows him to lower the max health of players and quickly drain their HP, a combination that can make him a pain to deal with if gamers do not master his moveset. With Maliketh sporting some gorgeous armor as well, fans will remember the boss’s appearance for some time - though Reddit user Justalynxx encountered a much heavier version of Marika’s Shadow when they were playing.
When seeking out a summon via Elden Ring’s co-op play, Justalynxx was likely surprised when the name “Big Maliketh” appeared on the ground. Surely enough, he lived up to this title, as the summoned player boasted a massive stomach and all of Maliketh’s gear. Seeing Maliketh’s hair, helmet, and armor wrapped around the husky Tarnished is hard not to laugh at, and now many players will be hoping to see Big Maliketh when they are in need of some assistance. While this version of Maliketh likely lacks the agility and wall climbing abilities of the real one, they deserve plenty of praise for their fashion sense.
Alongside 7,900 upvotes, the Elden Ring community filled the comments with special quotes that they think Big Maliketh might be heard saying. These include “Destined Denny’s” and the Black Blade asking Marika for forgiveness upon revealing that “the fridge…cannot be restocked.” Based on the response to this post, a new Elden Ring meme could be on the horizon, as players seem to love Big Maliketh. With a large Malenia seen in the past, it seems like a fun trend is emerging.
Despite Maliketh’s tragic backstory, this Redditor has successfully turned the character into a joke, and a good one at that. As such, Elden Ring players may want to keep their eyes peeled for more “big” variants of the game’s bosses going forward.
