Spike TV was present at E3 to demonstrate to Game Rant their upcoming unique fighting game, Deadliest Warrior, based on the hit TV series of the same name. Following the historical accuracy and style the series is known for, Deadliest Warrior: The Game presents its warriors using motion capture of the same professionals who play the parts in the TV series.

A standard one-versus-one fighting game in structure, with single player and 2-player (local or online), Deadliest Warrior brings a unique level of realism and a unique cast of combatants featuring 8 playable characters ranging from your muscled Spartan to your armored knight. Seven of the characters are familiar to season 1 of the Deadliest Warrior TV series and the eighth - which remains secret at this time - is a character from the upcoming season 2.

What makes Deadliest Warrior: The Game stand out is the style of fighting, and I'm not referring to the unique fighting styles of each playable warrior, but the style of the combat itself. Unlike many of the recent and upcoming releases in the fighting genre, this game is fast and brutal, but in the most realistic of ways.

From one-shot round-ending kills with a lucky shot of a poison arrow, to the removal of your opponent's limb on an ill-timed defensive block, Deadliest Warrior lives up to its name. This game does not make it easy to win and it is not forgiving if you make a mistake. There will be blood!

And what's a fighting game without some sense of progression? During the game, you'll be able to unlock additional weapons and a bonus level, among other little goodies and prepare for more in the future from potential DLC to grow the content of the fun title.

In Deadliest Warrior, the players are able to customize the look and fighting style of their favorite warriors and through unlocking more weapons and a secondary set of armor. You can re-balance your character for speed or protection on the defensive side or between speed and damage on the offensive side. Choose what you will depending on you preferred style or on who you are fighting and make use of your close-range, mid-range and long-range weaponry.

I handled fellow Game Rant writer Riley Little's Ninja pretty well with my unstoppable Apache, but he took my viking down with a musket-toting pirate.

If you're a fan of the show, of fighting games, or are looking for a fun game to play with a friend, Deadliest Warrior is for you.

Deadliest Warrior: The Game will be available for the reasonable price of 800 Microsoft Points ($10) on your Xbox 360 on July 14th, 2010 and later on the PS3.
