Black Adam actor Dwayne Johnson has talked about how the character can kill Superman. Johnson, also known as The Rock, will be playing the titular anti-hero Black Adam, who is often seen as a character who can best Superman in combat.

Black Adam got a teaser at the recent DC FanDome event. The virtual convention saw the anti-hero face off against a group of armed assailants. The footage shown had Black Adam disintegrate the mercenaries by using the power of lightning. It's very clear that this film will be much darker than the other DC films, including the one starring his nemesis Shazam.

The recent news of Black Adam being able to kill Superman comes from Johnson's personal Twitter, where he responded to Fico Cangiano about the Man of Steel's power. Cangiano said that Superman would be the only person who can take down the anti-hero, which in reality is a compliment, as it's saying the only person who can kill Black Adam is the strongest being on Earth. The Rock responded by pointing out that Superman's biggest weakness is magic, which is the entirety of Black Adam's abilities, as well as matching strength and speed.

In the Black Adam teaser, the costume can be seen with the iconic logo and some updated quality of life changes. The character will have a hooded scarf that wraps around his head and torso while hanging down as sort of a makeshift cape. The iconic solid black color can be seen along with yellow accents. The suit has different accentuated parts that make it look like fitted armor instead of the usual skin-tight spandex from most of the early comic books.

Even before officially filming, Johnson threw around the idea of Black Adam and Superman fighting. Many fans are awaiting the fight between him and Shazam, but some remember the short film where Black Adam, Shazam, and Superman all fought against each other.

Fans really want to see the big showdown, but right now the future of DC is in question. There are currently two actors playing Batman (three if you count Michael Keaton), no current word on Henry Cavill returning as Superman, and a plethora of different talents behind the scenes with their own creative input. Right now there isn't anything to prove that DC will keep the story connected or move forward in a cohesive manner. However, for the sake of the fans, DC will hopefully figure it out and fans can see Shazam, Superman, and Black Adam all fight together.

Black Adam is currently slated for a July 29, 2022, release.
