Dragon Age: Origins, the latest Role Playing Game developed by Bioware and published by Electronic Arts is coming fast and we have a few goodies on it to share with you.

The single player-focused game, described as a "dark heroic fantasy" makes use of the new Eclipse game engine and will be available on multiple platforms, including Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and PC. Like previous games of the genre, the decisions of players affect the story and the world around you.

Your good/evil alignment is not tracked as it was in previous Bioware RPGs, but your decisions still have heavy impact on the game. A new feature introduced to this game are the origins stories which depend on the type of character you choose. Some people you meet during your origin story may have an important role in the later stages of the game and may become friends or foes.

The party system will be similar to that of Knights of the Old Republic and you will be able to order the NPC characters around in real time and when paused.

Here's the official description:

Dragon Age: Origins is the spiritual successor to BioWare's critically acclaimed Baldur's Gate, featuring deep character customization and role-playing, morally challenging decisions, tactical party-based combat, and a wealth of gritty, mature sub-plots. It is a dark, heroic fantasy game that combines original storytelling techniques with classic role-playing challenges.

The Baldur's Gate games were solid adventure RPGs and I can't wait for the release of this one. I love these type of well-written story-focused RPGs that share detailed worlds and give you full control of your character and his/her/its development as you progress through the game. Bioware hasn't let me down and I'll definitely be playing this when it debuts.

Are you excited for Dragon Age: Origins?
