Speaking to a fan on Twitter, the official DOOM Twitter account reveals that the average amount of time it takes to complete the game's campaign is 13 hours.

As it stands, it appears as though the upcoming DOOM reboot game is poised to give gamers plenty of bang for their buck. Not only does it feature a full-fledged multiplayer component and a comprehensive map editor system, but it also boasts a single player campaign of decent length that takes around 13 hours to complete on average.

The official DOOM Twitter account confirmed as much to an inquiring fan. Apparently the average time it takes for the developers to beat the single player campaign is just over 13 hours, depending on the difficulty setting. When one considers that many FPS campaigns nowadays clock in at 10 hours or less, it definitely seems as though Bethesda and id Software are going all out with the DOOM reboot's campaign mode.

13 hours may not seem like a lot to some gamers, but for a modern FPS, it's actually quite lengthy. However, the trick will be to include plenty of compelling content in the game to keep players engaged from the start of the campaign to its finish. If the DOOM E3 2015 campaign trailer is any indication, the developers should have no trouble achieving that goal.

From what we've seen of it so far, it appears as though DOOM's campaign will be nonstop action. However, it will also need to bring to the table a compelling narrative to give some purpose to the mindless demon killing. Whether or not the developers will be able to deliver on that front remains to be seen, but we'll find out soon enough, as DOOM is releasing on May 13th.

It definitely seems as though DOOM will be offering players plenty of content to justify its price tag. The combination of the 13 hour long DOOM single player campaign along with the game's online multiplayer and SnapMap editing features should help to make it feel like a complete package. With many gamers bemoaning a general lack of content in numerous games released over the last couple of years, DOOM should feel like a breath of fresh air come its release in a few months.

What do you think about the length of DOOM's singler player campaign? Do you think that it is too long, not long enough, or just right? Do you plan on playing through the campaign before diving into the game's multiplayer? Leave a comment and let us know your thoughts on DOOM and its campaign.

DOOM and its roughly 13 hour long campaign will be available on May 13th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
