According to the list of changes being brought about by The Division's forthcoming patch, the game's developers will fix broken stats and remove more exploits.

Now that Ubisoft has changed The Division's scheduled repairs by switching the weekly maintenance from Tuesdays to Thursdays, developers have had time to put together fresh updates for the military action-MMO and are scheduling the changes to take place tomorrow, April 28. Regarding the next update, the Community Manager at Ubisoft, Natchai Stappers, has revealed that the upcoming patch for The Division will implement fixes to the game's broken stats and will also remove more exploits.

As many fans of The Division have been aware, it was recently discovered that the Protection from Elites stat is broken, and according to Stappers, tomorrow's patch will ensure that the stat properly reduces damage received from Elite enemies instead of increasing it. Furthermore, once the update becomes applied, players will no longer be able to use the Falcon Lost Incursion's ladder exploit, which lets players go through walls when the Jumping Jack emote is active while climbing.

Of course, it should be expected that these two fixes aren't the only changes The Division will be getting for the maintenance on April 28, as developers surely plan to patch other bugs and glitches. For those interested, a full look at what Natchai Stappers promises in the update can be found below.

  • Protection from Elites will now correctly reduce damage received from Elite enemies
  • Fixed a bug with Rehabilitated where the talent could remain active when used in combination with a tear gas grenade
  • Fixed an exploit where players could go through walls by using a ladder while the Jumping Jack emote is active
  • Falcon Lost: Players will no longer be able to shoot inside the incursion when they are standing outside of it

During a recent Twitch livestream, Ubisoft Massive’s Community Manager, Hamish Bode, revealed that The Division would also eventually be receiving a weapon balance in the future, but didn't say when the specific patch would be applied, or which guns would be affected. With many would-be Agents predominately wielding SMGs and Marksman Rifles, though, a lot of fans have speculated that it's possible for those to be the two firearms getting a nerf.

With The Division having been plagued by plenty of problems as of late, the aforementioned changes planned for the third-person shooter—save for the potential weapon nerf—ought to be welcomed with open arms by fans. They are, after all, fixes that are necessary in order to keep The Division running smoothly.

In any case, there are still plenty of players that feel The Division is beyond redemption at this point, and that there's no way to fix the game. As these fans would probably attest, the commonness of glitches, exploits, and cheaters, and Ubisoft's failure to address them quickly enough, has led to The Division losing its luster. With any luck, though, developers will be able to win these gamers back with subsequent updates and the diligent hunt to totally squash the aforementioned problems.

The Division is out now and is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
