Destiny: Xur Location and Exotic Items for May 27-29

We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of May 27th.

After a surprisingly eventful week in Destiny, things were much quieter the past 7 days. That isn't to say there was nothing to do, but it's hard to top a leak like the Rise of Iron expansion and the accompanying details. But good on Bungie for sticking to their guns and not confirming (or denying) the Rise of Iron leak as legitimate. Fans know that there is a plan and Bungie tends to stick to it regardless.

However, while there wasn't another major leak, Bungie did surprise Destiny fans with a hot fix for the heavy ammo glitch on Tuesday, followed by the launch of Iron Banner shortly thereafter. Bungie had previously put any PvP events on hold until they could eliminate the glitch, and most figured that meant delaying Iron Banner until early June. Lucky for those PvP fans, Bungie had a special present primed and ready.

As far as Xur is concerned this week, players can find the exotic merchant tucked into The Reef, the new social space added with the House of Wolves expansion. Now, we say that Xur is in The Reef now but there are no guarantees that he will be there the entire weekend. Bungie has had problems with the secret door on The Reef and occasioanlly a bug forces the devs to move Xur elsewhere. For now, however, Xur is to the right of the spawn point.

For armor this week, Xur has the No Backup Plans gauntlets for Titans, the ATS/8 Arachnid helmet for Hunters, and the Starfire Protocol chest piece for Warlocks. All are solid PvP options for their respective classes, with the No Backup Plans standing out for their overshield capabilities. It never used to be so, but now the gauntlets will activate an overshield any time a Titan gets a shotgun kill.

Xur's exotic weapon this week is the Bad Juju pulse rifle - a decent choice for those players who rely on their Super in battle. When pulse rifles were a bit stronger the Bad Juju was a top tier choice, but it has fallen off some following a few patches. Still, the gun is great for those instances where players need to build a Super fast.
