Much like when The Dark Below DLC launched for Destiny, the Bungie community is buzzing with anticipation for the return of Xur. While plenty of players had burnt out on the Agent of the Nine long ago - having accumulated every exotic under the sun - now that there are new House of Wolves exotics in the pool, it's highly likely those same people will be searching for Xur this weekend.

However, since there is no guarantee Xur will sell any of the House of Wolves exotics, there is an added dose of curiosity to this weekend. Will Xur deliver his most unique batch of loot in a long time? Will he show up in the Tower, or will this be the first time Xur appears in the new social space, the Reef? Read on to find out.

This week, Destiny players can find Xur in the Reef hidden behind the door to the right after spawning into the new social space. Normally the door is closed, but this weekend it is open!

Xur's Exotic Selection

Unfortunately, Xur doesn't have any of the new House of Wolves exotics on offer this weekend. It was a similar story when The Dark Below launched back in December, although he did have one piece of DLC armor.

The good news, though, is that Xur does have a helmet engram, so players can purchase one of those and hope it decrypts into a new Exotic piece. Best of luck to all those who try.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • No Backup Plans (Titan Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Radiant Dance Machines (Hunter DLC Boots) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Starfire Protocol (Warlock DLC Chest Piece) – 13 Strange Coins
  • The Last Word (Hand Cannon) – 23 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Shard – 7 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Helmet Engram – 23 Motes of Light

Normally we would include the exotic upgrades in our weekly Xur post, but those became a thing of the past with House of Wolves. Now players need only level up their gear through the new 'Ascend' system, which lets players bring any piece of Legendary or Exotic armor up to the new light level of 42. To do so, players will need either Etheric Light for Legendary armor or an Exotic Shard for Exotic armor, the former of which only drops in specific situations.

So, one Xur weekend down and no new exotics. As we mentioned, we're not sure if Xur can even sell any of the new exotics as part of his inventory but until Bungie says otherwise players are likely going to hold out hope. Now, time to start guessing which other players Xur can show up in.
