We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of January 22nd.

It took over two months but Destiny players finally have a reason to be excited, and no we're not talking about the Weekly Update. Because let's be honest, Crimson Days is an unfortunately named event that will likely generate casual interest at best.

No, the reason most Destiny players will be excited has everything to do with Xur, the exotic vendor. It's finally time for Titans to earn their wings, and soar through the skies with the best of them. First things first, though, we need to find Xur.

This week, players can find Xur in the Western wing of the Tower, next to the three class Vanguards. Head straight after spawning into Earth's social hub, follow the stairs down and past the Crucible handlers, and in the final room Xur should be on the right hand side against the wall. It's hard to miss him. He's the guy in the dark robes with the green snake things wiggling out of his hidden face.

But enough about Xur's dermotology, what most players want to know is whether or not Xur has one of two new exotics: the ATS/8 Tarantella or the Twilight Garrison. The bad news is that he doesn't have either piece for sale, but the good news is he does have chest piece engrams.

For some players that's going to be a win-win situation, as it allows them to unlock the Tarantella or Twilight Garrison at 310 light level instead of 280. However, it also means taking a gamble on the Cryptarch, who loves to troll Destiny players. To all those who decrypt a bunch of Crest of Alpha Lupi chest pieces, we're sorry.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • Mk. 44 Stand Asides (Titan Boots) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Sealed Ahamkara Grasps (Hunter Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
  • The Ram (Warlock Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Chest Piece Engram – 19 Strange Coins
  • Legacy Gauntlet Engram – 29  Strange Coins
  • Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins

Those who do get the Twilight Garrison, though, are going to have a fun new toy to play around with for a while, provided they have a Titan of course. As we've detailed before, the Twilight Garrision turns any Titan into an acrobat. The chest piece has even made it so Titans can fly across the King's Fall ship jumping puzzle without using more than one ship. If nothing else, the thing is fun to use, so pick one up...or try to pick one up if you can.

Destiny: The Taken King is out now for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
