We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of February 5th.

Xur has returned to the Tower once again, which means it’s time for players to get their Strange Coins ready. For yet another week, Xur will have a selection of exotic armor pieces – one for each class in Destiny – available, as well as either an exotic engram (armor or weapon) or an exotic weapon of his choosing.

Thus far, Xur has run the gamut has far as exotics are concerned, offering up nearly every armor and weapon under the sun, save for a few of the new year 2 exotics. Would this be the weekend that he breaks the streak and offers Destiny players something completely new? Read on to find out.

This week, players can find Xur in the Northern part of the Tower, across from The Speaker. After spawning into the Tower, head to the left and follow the path down a couple sets of stairs until you come to a large balcony-type area. Xur should be in the very back of this area.

After reaching Xur, players should discover…well…the Destiny veterans will likely be disappointed but the newcomers might find a few useful items in the bunch. Specifically, Xur's selection will please those players who run a Warlock or Titan.

For exotic armor pieces, Xur has the Immolation Fists gauntlets for Titans, which grant the ‘Explosive Pyre’ perk to Sunbreakers for free; the Radiant Dance Machines boots for Hunters, which increase player movement while aiming down sights; and The Stag, which charges the player’s Super faster while their teammates are dead.

On the weapon front, Xur has the Suros Regime auto rifle for sale, a solid option for fans of the weapon type. With The Taken King, Bungie did some interesting things to the Xur, mainly offering players the option of a higher rate of fire and basic damage or a lower rate of fire and slightly more damage. The gun also comes in handy when the Suros Regime perk activates, replenishing the user’s health upon a kill.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • Immolation Fists (Titan Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Radiant Dance Machines (Hunter Boots) – 13 Strange Coins
  • The Stag (Warlock Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Suros Regime – 23 Strange Coins
  • Legacy Special Weapon Engram – 29  Strange Coins
  • Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins

As far as recommendations go, if you don’t own the Titan gauntlets or the Warlock helmet we’d recommend PvP players pick them up. Both offer some decent perks with the right subclass build, both defensively and offensively.

The Suros Regime, on the other hand, is a little harder to recommend. At one point it was a beast – one of the best guns in Crucible. But several auto rifles nerfs, and one terrible buff, later and it’s not as useful.

Destiny: The Taken King is out now for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
