We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of May 6th.

This week was a fairly uneventful one in the world of Destiny, although there were some changes made behind the scenes. With a new hotfix, one that has yet to go live yet, Bungie is paving the way for better melee detection in the game.

The goal with this new hotfix, which is set to go live on May 10th, is to make it so melee hits register a little more accurately. Prior to the fix it was highly likely that players would hit an opponent and not see any damage done. And no one knew this plight more than the Bladedancer subclass users, who were constantly shaking their heads as their blades did not hit.

Outside of that, though, there is much news to report in the world of Destiny – players are still making their way through the April Update, working towards 335 light. And perhaps the arrival of Xur this weekend will help give them a boost as well.

This weekend, Destiny players can find Xur in the Reef, in his usual spot. After spawning into the space-based social area, players will want to head to the right, following the stairs down, and a door that is typically closed should be open. However, if that door is closed for some reason, don’t fret; that happens more often than you might think.

Xur’s exotic armor selection this week includes the Crest of Alpha Lupi chest piece for Titans, the Young Ahamkara’s Spine gauntlets for Hunters, and the Heart of Praxic Fire chest piece for Warlocks. Since Bungie seems unable to “fix” firebolt grenades – i.e. nerf their radius or their burn – we’d recommend the Warlock chest piece for any PvP players. Outside of that, though, the other two options aren’t nearly as viable.

Destiny Xur Location Exotic Items

The Titan chest piece used to be a must-have for Trials of Osiris but the April Update’s nerfs to revive speed, radius, and the increase to the timer have changed that quite a bit. That isn’t to say the Crest of Alpha Lupi has been ruined but it might be worth running something different now.

On the weapon side, Xur has the Suros Regime auto rifle available. Suros has been one of the exotics that ebbs and flows with each major Destiny patch. At first it was a top tier Destiny gun, then it lost almost all relevance once auto rifles were nerfed, and now the April Update has made it a decent, but not amazing choice for players.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • Crest of Alpha Lupi (Titan Chest Piece) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Young Ahamkara's Spine (Hunter Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Heart of Praxic Fire (Warlock Chest Piece) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Suros Regime – 23 Strange Coins
  • Legacy Primary Weapon Engram – 31 Strange Coins
  • Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins

It’s also worth pointing out that once again Xur has not sold an exotic engram for Year 2. At this point, it appears Bungie realized those engrams were one of the best paths towards increasing a player’s light and decided to do away with it.
