Destiny Reef Social Space Header

Destiny players are likely still adjusting to some of the surprising changes that arrived in yesterday's big patch, but that doesn't mean they aren't all keeping an eye on the horizon, as well. The sci-fi shooter's next big DLC pack is due to arrive sometime between April and June and a few early leaks have the community already speculating what the content will be like. Thanks to yet another series of leaked screenshots, it looks like have a little extra intel on House of Wolves.

The same Reddit user who was responsible for the last Destiny leak, megamanexe4, posted a new series of screen grabs to the forums featuring some content spoilers for the House of Wolves expansion. One of the screenshots was taken in orbit and reveals the that the Reef will be the new social space in the expansion. We don't have any concrete details on what the space will offer, but it seems like it could offer an alternative to the Tower, which players have been using as the social hub since the game's launch.

At this point, the Reef is an asteroid belt that players only visit in a few cut-scenes. Bungie did mention plans to create a non-combat zone in the Reef two years ago, but we haven't heard any updates on that plan since. Fans will have to wait until more official information is released about House of Wolves to find out if the Reef will be the new social space or if megamanexe4 stumbled upon an old file from the developer's original plan for the zone.

As shown in the screenshots above, the other leaks hint at incoming Crucible matches and House of Wolves missions. The new Nightcrawler missions looks like it will offer some single-player action for characters that have reached level 30. There is also a level 28+ mission called Belly of the Beast, which also takes place on the Moon.

At this point, none of this intel has been confirmed by Bungie, so even though it looks legit, it should be taken with a grain of salt. At this point, Bungie has yet to even confirm a release date for the expansion pack. The developer has hinted that it will be arriving in early summer, so hopefully we'll start seeing some trailers and more official details in the coming months.

Do you think that it's time for Destiny to get a second social hub? Does the Reef seem like a good option to you? Let us know in the comments.
