With some distance between E3 2013 and us, some developers have begun releasing their show floor demos to give those gamers not in attendance a taste of the action. So far, we have seen demos from Saints Row 4 and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, and the list continues to grow.

The most recent E3 game to throw its hat into the ring is Destiny, the new sci-fi shooter from original Halo developer Bungie. While the gameplay footage is almost exactly the same as what was shown during Sony's press conference, it's worth a second look all the same.

In the demo, gamers will get a sense of Bungie's cooperative mission structure and its multiplayer "events." As the Bungie devs make their way through the abandoned wall, they will encounter several different enemy types, which are best dispatched with a friend.

The gameplay footage also features a brief overview of the game's leveling system, which will allow players to tailor their avatar to their liking. Customization includes a mixing and matching a whole lot of character-specific loot, new weapons, and new abilities. Unfortunately, a lot of the finer details are left to speculation, as Bungie chooses to show not tell (a common practice in E3 demos).

To that point, the demo briefly showcases the game's three playable classes, but doesn't go out of its way to explain them. Luckily, plenty of literature on the Hunger, Titan, and Warlock has already been released.

And finally, as was previously mentioned, the demo concludes with a massive multiplayer event wherein additional players are funneled into the Bungie dev's game. It is during these enemy encounters (instances, if you will) that Destiny shows some MMO-esque trappings with a large group of players coming together to tackle a massive enemy.

Overall, what was on display at E3, and now here, was a worthwhile teaser for a game that we know is much larger than one demo can demonstrate. Bungie wanted to set the stage first with a brief explanation of the Destiny universe (which they did back in February), then show off the game at E3, and then presumably start getting into the finer details.

What did you think of Bungie's E3 2013 demo for Destiny? What about the game has you the most intrigued?

Destiny is targeting a 2014 release on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
