‘Destiny’ Beta Goes Live for Pre-Order Holders in July

Destiny Beta July

Earlier today, Activision revealed their financial numbers for Quarter 1 including word on World of Warcraft subscribers, pre-sales for the MMO’s Warlords of Draenor expansion, and more evidence that Skylanders is a worldwide phenomenon. They also confirmed a release month for the highly anticipated beta of Destiny, which, for us, was the most exciting news item out of the call.

Thus far, it’s been a slow stream of teases from Activision and developer Bungie regarding the Destiny beta. First came word that there would, in fact, be a beta test for the multiplayer-focused title, followed shortly by the news that PlayStation gamers would gain access to the beta first. And now we have a release month for the beta: July.

That being said, we still don’t know when, specifically, the Destiny beta might go live, for either PlayStation or Xbox gamers. For that matter, we don’t know what the beta experience might entail — just how much of the online experience is Bungie willing to show off?

The good news, though, is that players now have a clearer timeline as to when they should secure a pre-order for Destiny. The game officially launches in September of this year, but if you want to get in on the beta you’ll have to pre-order the game presumably before the July launch date. Activision is counting on gamers pre-ordering the game, as the title is poised to become the most expensive video game production ever.

It’s been a solid past few weeks for the Destiny promotional team, as a steady diet of new content including developer diaries, hands-on previews, and gameplay details has been fed to the public. However, all of those important details come into greater focus when you consider that in just a few months gamers will be able to go hands-on with the game and see for themselves.

There’s also a lot more to be written about Destiny, specifically with regards to the game’s PvP experience. We expect E3 2104 will be chocked full of Destiny content so stick here to Game Rant for more news.

Will you be participating in the Destiny beta? What do you hope to see in the beta?

The above link was posted prior to this article. Google it next time before you say no one knows just how much the beta will entail, they have talked about it to extent. I am getting tired of scanning different sites for info on games to see articles posted on the same day from different sites have complete lack of research to its subject matter. Don’t hastily scribble an article for the ” first to report” bs. Research and report.

A direct quote from that video –

“We’re not really detailing exactly what we’re doing for beta, but we absolutely want it to be a huge slice of content.”
