The Templar in Destiny 2's Vault of Glass raid can be somewhat of an annoying obstacle to overcome. The mini-boss isn't necessarily difficult as the Vault of Glass has been around for eons now, but still, as a mini-boss, the Templar requires a high level of coordination to survive all the fodder-level enemies it deploys and to reach its DPS phase. Unfortunately for the Templar, there is a strategy that dismisses the need for most of those things.
An endless stream of super orbs can turn the Vault of Glass' Templar into the very fodder it deploys. When pretty much everyone on the Fireteam can cast multiple supers, one right after the other, it doesn't take very long to destroy even boss-level enemies. Of course, not just any class in Destiny 2 can pull off this feat. For it to work, a Fireteam must consist of mostly Titans — Titans with a certain exotic chest piece — and one or two Warlocks.
A Destiny 2 player named Jeff posted a short video onto Twitter showing off how the strat works. In the video, Jeff and his Fireteam, one consisting of five Titans and a Warlock, manage to summon and destroy the Templar in one battle phase, all in under one minute. They do this by performing back-to-back casting of the Ward of Dawn (which generates Orbs of Light), Well of Radiance (which grants a damage buff), and Thundercrash, which deals damage.
The two primary Exotics that Jeff and his team use to make this work are Crest of Alpha Lupi and Cuirass of the Falling Star. Crest of Alpha Lupi allows Supers to generate more Orbs of Light whenever they're cast, hence the back-to-back Titan Bubbles. With the field flooded with Orbs of Light, the Fireteam can recharge their Supers as much as needed. So it uses the Well of Radiance and Cuirass of the Falling Star to give Thundercrash a damage boost before wailing on the Templar with it.
Jeff's strategy isn't the first to take advantage of the Crest of Alpha Lupi, and it won't be the last. The Exotic's ability to recharge Supers is unmatched — though Bungie likely didn't want it used in this fashion. Not much sense in creating a boss-level monster if players can pretty much instantly kill it. Whether the developer decides to nerf the Exotic or Titans remains a mystery, but the possibility exists, so players should get their fill now.
