Although Destiny 2 developer Bungie skipped last week’s This Week At Bungie post, the studio did have something for players as part of Bungie Day. Since the new Moments of Triumph are set to go live on Tuesday, Bungie had to give players some information about how the event will work and what rewards will be available. But, there are some parts of the Destiny 2 Moments of Triumph for Year 2 that will require owning more than just the base game.

As part of the Bungie Day post, the Destiny 2 developer outlined the 20 categories of Triumphs that players will need to complete. These tasks run the gamut from basic activities to collecting gear and even includes some pinnacle weapons.

Of the 20 Moments of Triumph, Bungie explained that completing 1 will unlock a special emblem, 5 will unlock a special sparrow, 10 will unlock a ship, 15 will unlock a discount code for the Moments of Triumph shirt, and all 20 will unlock a Seal and Title.

Bungie then clarified that in order to get the shirt, players will only need to own Destiny 2 and its Forsaken expansion that was released last September. However, if players want to get the Moments of Triumph Seal and Title, they will need to purchase the Annual Pass.

Presumably, if players are dedicated enough to Destiny 2 to want to complete all 20 Moments of Triumph then they likely already own the Annual Pass, but it was important for Bungie to clarify this info regardless. Most importantly, Bungie did not lock the t-shirt code – which lowers the price of the t-shirt to an affordable amount – behind the Annual Pass paywall. Anyone who bought into Destiny 2 for Year 2 with Forsaken will be able to earn the t-shirt.

As far as what activities players will need to complete for the Moments of Triumph, Bungie typically likes to deploy a variety of tasks. Some are as simple as completing a certain number of strikes or getting a specific number of Crucible kills, while others can be more involved and ask for raid completions. Based on the clarification about the Annual Pass we expect there to be a Triumph for the Black Armory Forges, the Reckoning/Gambit Prime modes, and the Menagerie mode, so players can get a headstart on those if they neglected.

Destiny 2: Moments of Triumph starts July 9th and runs until August 27th.
