Deadpool is one of the Marvel standalone superheroes historically left by the wayside in mainstream media due largely to his polarizing nature. It took all of 22 years, with his much-maligned introduction in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, for Deadpool to really begin hitting a mainstream stride.
Since then, despite apparently getting decapitated in that film, an unconnected spin-off movie was announced to be in the works as well as the soon-to-be-released video game written by Daniel Way. Deadpool is getting a big chance in the spotlight with his self-titled solo game debut, and with the latest Deadpool game trailer featuring appropriate wise-cracks, fountains of blood and urinal-users being shot to bits, gamers can expect quite a ride as well.
Deadpool made brief appearances in other video games (Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, a Tom Kenny-voiced turn in Marvel Super Hero Squad Online and even LittleBigPlanet as DLC, to name a few) but never got top billing and always took on the mantle of goofy secondary antagonist. This changes this summer thanks to developer High Moon Studios and publisher Activision, who recently unveiled who very well could be the Norman Osborn to Deadpool’s Wade Wilson and the Catwoman to his Batman (or Spider-Man).
It's unclear how large of a role they will play, but characters Mister Sinister and Psylocke are slated to at least make cameos in the game, in addition to the already announced Cable, Domino and Death.

The crew-cutted, blue-suited Mister Sinister was created in 1987 and is one of the more imposing villains in the X-Men canon. With a whole slew of abilities from telepathy and telekinesis to shape-shifting and near invincibility, he ought to be very fascinating. The slovenly psychic known as Psylocke however, has an even richer history and should prove to also have an interesting dynamic with The Merc with a Mouth, who has never been above being a rather dirty dog toward lady-type.

I thought it was pretty clear when I said I wanted a true Deadpool game that it would star Deadpool...in every role! My star power shouldn't be limited to the central protagonist. I should be playing the hero, the anti-hero, the villain who eventually changes sides to join forces against the TRUE villain (me), the romantic interest, the quirky best friend, the comic relief, and at least 8 other characters in fat suits! Is that too much to ask?!
But... I've been talking to my therapist... and she says it's important that I not allow the existence of other people who are not me to determine my own self-worth. I just have to be the best unhinged mutant mercenary I can be. So, here's a look at some of the... other... characters you can meet in DEADPOOL…
Deadpool lauded Psylocke as "one hot piece of mutant super heroine" and commended her for her "incredible assssss…" and that should be no surprise to Deadpool comic readers, as the sauciness and over-the-top nature expected in this game hasn't been kept a secret. Psylocke is shown in-game wearing a skimpy, skin-tight outfit in her reveal picture and is notably more well-endowed than she has been in past iterations.
