The anticipated followup to the downloadable smash-hit Deadliest Warrior: The Game will soon be available to the masses, and fans are surely looking forward to decapitating foes with a medley of new warriors and weapons. Deadliest Warrior: Legends may still have the same basic principles as the game before it, but the fine folk at 345 Games and Pipe Works have changed quite a few things that make the sequel more than worth revisiting.

The biggest and most notable change for Legends is the removal of generic warriors and their replacement by well known historical figures who made a name for themselves for their combat prowess. There are a total of nine playable characters to choose from in Deadliest Warrior: Legends, ranging from the likes of Scottish legend William Wallace to the feared Attila the Hun. Offering a look at the designs of the warriors in Legends, concept art of all nine of the infamous historical figures have been unveiled.

A list of every single character available in Deadliest Warrior: Legends can be viewed below — in alphabetical order no less!

  • Alexander the Great
  • Attila the Hun
  • Genghis Khan
  • Hannibal
  • Hernan Cortes
  • Shaka Zulu
  • Sun Tzu
  • Vlad the Impaler
  • William Wallace

The concept art for each of the infamous warriors can be viewed after the jump. Remember that they may look extremely intimidating, but they're all dead so you only have to worry about zombie versions of them.

Based on our hands-on time with Deadliest Warrior: Legends, everyone who enjoyed the original will surely love this game. All of the warriors are rendered wonderfully and animated to respond well to the brutal and quick gameplay of each round of combat. The promise of even more warriors and a surprise guest (*hint, hint*) coming in future DLC only add to the roster's depth.

So, who's the greatest combatant of the group?

Deadliest Warriors: Legends is scheduled to hit the Xbox Live Marketplace on July 6th, and will be available on the PSN not long after.
