If there's one series of downloadable fighting titles that are deceivingly more entertaining than anyone could have initially imagined, it's the Deadliest Warrior series. Based off of the successful television show on Spike TV, Deadliest Warrior: The Game and its sequel Deadliest Warrior: Legends have provided fans of the show with hours of extremely satisfying bloodbaths. Each iteration was met with quite a bit of financial success, hence, it wasn't surprising to learn that 345 Games and Spike plan on teaming up once more to bring both Deadliest Warrior games to retailers in the form of Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat.

Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat will combine both DW games that are currently available to download, to retailers. Gamers won't just receive the two games though, as the retail edition will include all of the downloadable add-ons for both games — as well as brand new features and content.

A majority of the new content will be available for the on-disc version of Deadliest Warrior: Legends, as opposed to the original historically inaccurate brawler. Some of the content includes the a whopping 30 brand new weapons (i.e. the "Lochaber Axe for William Wallace, a Monk’s Spade for Sun Tzu and a Tsonga Battle Axe for Shaka Zula"). Furthermore, a brand new arena titled 'Graveyard' will be added to the available list of battlegrounds for the legendary warriors.

Fans of the television spectacle who have avoided playing either version of the Deadliest Warrior games may also be enticed by the three never-before-seen episodes of the show that come included as part of the overall package.

While the smorgasbord of new features does sound delightful, the real question is just how much all of this content will actually cost. The answer is surprisingly not that much, and devotees will be delighted to learn that all of this content will be available for a very modest $29.99.

Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat is scheduled to hit, maim, and sever retailers this December.
