The mutilation-filled list of Dead Space 2 achievements is now available and it promises to reward players who fully utilize the game's dismemberment system and other means to ensure the destruction of the necromorph horde that protagonist Isaac Clarke must do battle against once more. In addition to the long list of known achievements, Dead Space 2 features a lot of secret achievements, which are likely related to the completion of chapters within the story. They may also reward gamers who choose to dismember their friends in the new multiplayer addition. However, these achievements might be a bit more challenging to attain since they are against human opponents rather than droves of AI controlled fiends. Here is the entire list of achievements:

No doubt the game's achievements will be fun to attain since creatively killing necromorphs was definitely a big draw of the original Dead Space. The achievements that sound like the most fun have to do with killing necromorphs by shooting them into space, one of the best ways to kill any antagonistic extraterrestrial life form as demonstrated in the awesome film, Aliens.
Dead Space 2 could be one of the scariest games of the year (check out the latest trailer) and will add a bit more action to the franchise's survival-horror aspects. While some fans of the series may view that as a disadvantage, if implemented correctly, the title can still retain its scare factor while allowing players to feel like a bad ass when they dispatch their enemies.
