One of the most likable things about Dave Bautista is that he is never shy about discussing the kind of projects he would like to be a part of. Most recently, Bautista let fans know of another tough-guy actor known for comic book movies that he is looking to partner with on an intriguing idea.

While Bautista will face off with Jason Momoa in the new season of See, their collaboration apparently went well as he already has an idea for their new project. Bautista took to his Twitter account to offer his straightforward pitch for a buddy cop movie starring himself and Momoa. Bautista even offered an idea for a potential director with Deadpool 2's David Leitch in mind.

Not surprisingly, the suggestion was met with considerable enthusiasm from fans on Twitter. David Dastmalchian, who can currently be seen as Polka Dot Man in The Suicide Squad, even offered his services to the movie, asking to play the "creepy guy at the adult bookstore you have to rough up for intel on the location of some bad guys."

Bautista is no stranger to the buddy cop genre as he starred alongside Kumail Nanjiani in Stuber. Of course, Bautista and Momoa have become huge stars in the superhero movie genre with Bautista as Drax in the MCU and Momoa as Aquaman in the DCEU. Bautista also has a number of interesting projects lined up including Denis Villeneuve's Dune and Rian John's Knives Out 2. Momoa is prepping Aquaman 2 and can currently be seen in the Netflix movie Sweet Girl.

Regardless of how serious Bautista is about this pitch, it is the kind of thing that seems so obvious once it's out there that it's a surprise no one has done it already. Both Bautista and Momoa had similar early careers in movies, often relegated to playing the henchmen with little dialogue. However, with their respective superhero roles, they have really proven themselves to be much better actors than what Hollywood tried to typecast them as. It will be exciting to see them as enemies in See, but the prospect of them working together in a wild buddy cop movie is even more enticing. And Bautista's pick of Leitch as the director is just one more reason to get excited.

The buddy cop genre has never really died down, but it has been a while since there had been a fresh take on it. Maybe all it takes is an interesting pairing like this. Hopefully, now that Bautista has put that idea out in the world, it's only a matter of time before it comes to fruition.
